Description

The 18th Century High Ridge Farm and Barn are built of local pink stone and sit in 4 acres in the beautiful Swythamley wooded valley in the Peak District National Park. Surrounded by glorious countryside, High Ridge Barn is architect designed and recently renovated throughout to provide modern and luxurious self-catering accommodation.

The double-height barn has 4 new double bedrooms sleeping up to 8 people with new solid oak doors and floors, 3 contemporary bathrooms, a newly-fitted luxury fully equipped kitchen with NEFF appliances, a log burner, huge luxurious velvet sofas, super fast broadband and has its own private half-acre gated gardens and parking for up to 5 cars.. Guests can enjoy using the large wood fired Scandi sauna, BBQ, secure bike storage, and a dog grooming chalet with all the latest mod cons including walk-in electric lift bath, hot shower and pet hairdryer... your pets are very welcome! There is also a full size Mothercare cot with bedding, a Baby Bjorn high chair (up to 2 years old), a stair gate, and a BT baby monitor.

Our location is very rural and quiet and only a walk from the impressive Roaches and the lovely River Dane Valley which are on our doorstep. Macclesfield, Leek and Buxton are only a short drive away. A large network of walking and cycling routes is easily accessible from High Ridge. There are many local attractions including the renowned Wincle Brewery and some great pubs and restaurants. Enjoying tranquillity and beautiful views, the Barn location is very relaxing.

Perfect property for humans and dogs

By Lynne Rayner on 03-Dec-2021

Never have I stayed in such a perfect property for humans and dogs alike. The house has a contemporary twist on a beautiful traditional building and as you can see from the photos, everything is to the highest standard from the bed linen to the bathrooms. The most important aspect for us, travelling with 3 dogs, was that the whole place was absolutely secure. One of our dogs is a small terrier but the boundary was secure even for her. So much thought has gone into making this a relaxing place to come, providing dog beds and dog bowls to cut down on what you need to bring. Making the house dog friendly by covering the sofas with throws and allowing the dogs on all hard floors which is most of the downstairs including one of the bedrooms. We came in the wet and wintery weather so the doggy parlour outside was great to get the dogs really clean after a muddy walk, before going in the house. This was a fabulous place and I would highly recommend to anyone, particularly with dogs.

Best Peak District experience

By Carolina J on 06-May-2021

I could not recommend High Ridge barn or the hosts more highly. The barn is absolutely beautiful: the views are sublime, it is tastefully decorated and cleverly converted keeping original features while adding all the mod cons and absolutely everything you may need to feel at home away from home. Our children aged 9 and 10 loved it all, the garden, the sheep in the field next door, the hens, the birds, the board games, the dog grooming area, the fire place and of course the superfast wifi. The barn is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and we really enjoyed some fantastic walks soaking in the views and the pure air. The hosts were the kindest and most attentive I’ve met so far, they even set up an office for my husband to work in and provided alternative food for our dog when she refused her usual one. Stay at the barn if you get the chance, we will come back as soon as we can!

Fabulous Weekend

By Coolstays User on 01-Aug-2021

We just had a fabulous week here. I couldn’t recommend it more highly. Rosie and Rob are lovely and have thought of everything. The house is beautiful and everything supplied is of a very high standard. When you get there there’s bread and milk and cake and beers, and all the supermarkets deliver to the door. The place is secure for dogs and the views from every part of the house and garden are stunning. The local area is gorgeous and you can access some of the walks from the front door. Our kids had a day at Alton Towers and another at Go Ape. We also visited Chatsworth house and a local pub where the food and service were fab. My only reservation in recommending it is it will be booked up for when I want to go back!
