We offer two self-catering holiday cottages situated within the grounds of our Georgian house close to Pickering, on the edge of the North York Moors. Each holiday cottage is set in its own secluded garden, providing you with privacy to relax and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

A stylish barn conversion, with a professionally designed contemporary interior, whilst retaining the character of the original farm barn, with revealed stone walls and original barn roof trusses. Added to this there are two attractive, professionally designed gardens. One is an Italian style pebble courtyard full of structural plants and shapes with a large wooden seated area for group meals; the other is a hidden gem for a romantic evening, catching the setting sun. There is a master bedroom overlooking the snug with wood burning stove, a large twin bedroom overlooking the kitchen and living space, and a third room that can be either a study or a third bedroom with a single bed.

We would like to keep The Barn and its furnishings to a high standard for the enjoyment of all our guests. Unfortunately, this means that we cannot have pets or smoking.

Down Stairs
The large patio doors open into the spacious garden. Roof-lights let plenty of natural light into the main space with fully equipped kitchen, large extendable dining table and comfortable sofa area, with flat screen TV.

North Side
There is a snug, cosy sitting room, with a second flat screen TV and DVD player. The wood burning stove makes for a relaxed atmosphere in which to unwind on a winters evening. A comfortable sleeping area, with separate dressing area on a mezzanine floor, is accessed up the elegant glass and walnut stairs. The blue wet-room with central power shower and the utility room complete this part of the Barn’s accommodation.

South Side
At the south end of the Barn, accessed by a separate walnut staircase, is a twin mezzanine bedroom looking out across original barn beams. The twin beds will convert into a superking sized bed upon request. Below is a luxurious bathroom with a deep bath and separate power shower, toilet and basin. Next to it is a room, which doubles as a study, or it can be converted into a single bedroom and is suitable for less able guests.

Parking (for up to two cars) is in the yard by the entrance to the Barn. The garden attracts a variety of birds including tits and goldfinches close to The Barn.

Brilliant stay at The Barn

By Martyn S on 01-Nov-2020

Our second time here and have loved it on both occasions. A lovely spacious and modern cottage that’s cosy at the same time. A great base for days out and lovely to come back to curl up in front of the wood burning stove on an autumnal evening. All the family loved the cottage and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Highly recommend. We will be back...!

Lovely Cottage

By Mirza on 01-Oct-2020

We had a lovely 3 night stay at The Barn. The place itself self was amazing. Very spacious and well done up. The kitchen had all the equipment and more than one could ask for. The barn itself felt very homely and during one of our days, as it was raining, we just stayed inside the cottage and relaxed in there. One of the owners was even kind enough to give us a full itinerary of what to do in the surrounding area and his advice was great. Would definitely stay there again and recommend to everyone.
