Description

Ffynnon Ddofn is situated in a quiet lane, mid-way between St.Davids and Fishguard, with superb panoramic views over 18 miles of coastline and within easy each of all that the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast has to offer.

The cottage has a lovely bright kitchen, and open plan living room, with vaulted beamed ceilings and picture window. There are 3 bedrooms, one with king size bed, one with twin beds, and the third with bunk beds. All linen and towels included.
There is also a large games room with snooker, table tennis, darts and children's toys, and a pleasant, secure garden surrounded by fields.
With central heating and double glazing, the cottage is warm and comfortable to be in all year round and there are stunning sea views from the main living rooms and garden. There's always something to see - the ferry going across to Ireland (day trips available) - a buzzard hovering - the Strumble Head lighthouse flashing.

There are safe sandy beaches nearby which are never crowded, even in peak season, rock pools, interesting little coves and fishing harbours and wonderful walks. A footpath along the lane winds down to Aberfelin beach, with its ancient mill stones, and the Coastal Path, which follows some of its most spectacular scenery here. The cliffs are carpeted with flowers in spring and in early autumn there are seal pups on the beaches below.

Six miles away is the City of St Davids, a small town complete with cathedral, Bishops Palace, Lifeboat station, restaurants and interesting local shops. There's good surfing nearby, windsurfing, sailing, coasteering, fishing and pony trekking, also boat trips to island bird sanctuaries. There are historic towns and castles to explore and many friendly pubs and good eating places in the area. Pub and shop 1 mile.

Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday, with short breaks available out of season. Arrival 3.30pm Departure 10.00am.

A wonderful peaceful spot

By David Gafford on 11-Oct-2020

We have stayed in many properties in this part of the world and this one was amongst the very best. The kitchen and dining/living room both have picture windows with lovely views of the sea, Strumble Head the the ferries heading to and from Ireland. From the back garden there were wonderful views of the sunset towards St David''s. A short walk down the hill and you''re on the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Porthgain was a five minute drive away. The cottage was warm and clean and was provided with everything you might need. It would be ideal for a family with enough beds for two adults and four children, as well as a cot, in three bedrooms. There''s also a games room at the top of the garden to keep the kids (and adults) amused. It was a wonderfully peaceful spot to get away to in these troubled times (2020) and I can think of few better places to be or stay.

Really love this cottage

By Anthony Key on 15-Feb-2020

We had a great 2 weeks here in August and have just returned from a short winter break, finding the cottage very warm and welcoming. Owners have thought of everything you might need and more. The views are superb and the games room a real bonus. There are some beautiful beaches and we found the coast path simply stunning. Have already booked again for this summer.

Our Window in Wales

By Sandra Mayer-Smith on 02-Sep-2023

Sandra M Sat, Aug 26 – Sat, Sep 2, 2023 5/5 This is the second time we have stayed at this property, it is a beautiful location with stunning views. Having two teenage girls, an elderly Mother and two small dogs, this location has something for us all. For the girls there are long coastal walks and beautiful beaches where they can play and swim. The barn is ideal for rainy days where they can play table tennis or pool…… it’s also really handy for cleaning grubby dogs! The dogs have a safe contained garden and miles of lovely walks! For my Mum, there is a large window looking out to sea which she just loves to be able to sit safely and enjoy the view. For me, coming back here to Wales always feels like coming home.
