Description
The Moorings is a semi-detached house sleeping up to 6 guests in 3 bedrooms and is situated in the beautiful village of St Helens. The accommodation has a double bedroom, a master bedroom with a king size bed (zip & link), a third bedroom with bunk beds (which can hold adult weight), a family bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom. The lounge has comfortable seating with a bay window and smart TV / DVD player. The open plan kitchen has a dining room table that seats 6. The kitchen is well-equipped and spacious, leading to the warm and bright conservatory which has comfortable seating for 6 and a door to an enclosed garden.St Helens Village is on the East Coast of the Isle of Wight between the villages of Bembridge and Seaview. St Helens’ greens are an integral part of the village life with regular sports played throughout the year. The village also has a local corner shop, restaurant and public house.
St Helens beach is within walking distance of the house. Here you will find the remains of the original old church which was built on the seafront, just off the coast is the St Helens Fort built around 1867. You also have views across to Bembridge Harbour and the RSPB conservation area. There is also a lovely café/restaurant for you to enjoy a relaxing meal with stunning views.
The Moorings is an ideal holiday home for families, walkers, cyclists and bird watchers with many public footpaths nearby.

A wonderful Spring Holiday
By Fiona Turnbull on 20-Apr-2026Spent two very sunny weeks at the Moorings! Having the garden to sit out for morning coffee and lunch was so peaceful and private. Moorings is a charming, comfortable and clean home. St Helens is a beautiful location with easy access to lovely walks on the beach and the Duver. The village is well served by local pubs (The Vine Inn & Steve’s Bar), cafes and a village grocery shop. I highly recommend a stay to any island visitors.

By Andrew on 10-Jun-2025This was our third stay at The Moorings ! It’s in a beautiful location right next to St Helens Duver and the beach. The house is so comfortable, clean and homely. Always feel so relaxed after our stay and look forward to our next visit.
A lovely house for a week in the Isle of Wight
By Ronald on 04-Aug-2025This was our first trip to the Isle of Wight. The house is spacious and well equipped. I liked the general decor of dark blue walls with white/cream ceilings. There is a small garden at the back which is sheltered and catches the sunlight during most of the day. A nice touch was having a bottle of wine and a pack of coffee on arrival. The box of multiple games were appreciated by the children. A small point - note that the side gate does not lock properly. Parking on the street could be difficult, but there was a free car park at the top of the road next to the green. St Helens is quite a small place, which we appreciated. It has a local shop across the green with a good local pub serving food along the same road. There is a lovely traditional book shop and a café next door on the house side of the green. The green is good for playing ball games and flying a kite!
Another wonderful stay!

For us, the house is located in the perfect spot on the island, we love being so close to the Duver and St Helens beach. The house is so homely, clean, well furnished and cosy. We had a great week out and about all over the island and really appreciated coming back to our comfortable home.
November stay at The Moorings

Our thanks to Island Holiday Homes again for their friendly, helpful and efficient service and to the family who own the property, that Island manages, on their behalf. St Helen's is a great place to stay, quiet with great views over Bembridge Bay and 10 minute walks to the beach and coast path. Good pub, The Vine, and a good bus service to Ryde and elsewhere, and 10 minutes by car to Ryde or Bembridge. We look forward to our next stay.

Its location beside The Duver and Bembridge Harbour is just perfect for us. This well equipped property had everything we needed for our vacation and we look forward to returning hopefully later this year!
