Sea Spray is a luxurious, ground-floor, sea-facing garden apartment at the prestigious Sands Apartments in Carbis Bay, St Ives.Sleeping up to four guests plus an infant in a cot, this light and airy apartment offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private patio, a sunny rear terrace, and access to beautifully maintained communal gardens.
Our neighbouring apartment, Sea Shells at The Sands (property reference P4480), also accommodates four guests plus an infant, making the two apartments ideal for extended families or friends who wish to holiday together while still enjoying their own private space.
With gated access to an allocated parking space, underfloor heating, and fibre WiFi throughout, Sea Spray is an exceptional destination for families and friends at any time of year.
The open-plan living space is designed to make the most of the spectacular sea views, with eight-foot patio doors that flood the room with natural light. A large corner sofa is perfectly positioned to take in the dazzling sea views, while a 55” Panasonic flat-screen TV sits on a stylish Calligaris media unit, complemented by a games console. The dining area features a matching Calligaris sideboard, stocked with books, puzzles and games for all the family, along with a PURE DAB/Bluetooth/WiFi stereo. Completing the space is a contemporary Calligaris dining table with four chairs – perfect for relaxed breakfasts or leisurely dinners with a sea view.
The well-stocked designer Rok Punt kitchen has been thoughtfully designed with both style and practicality in mind. It features high-quality Neff appliances, including a fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and oven with five-ring hob, ensuring everything you need for effortless holiday cooking is at your fingertips. A washer/dryer and microwave add further convenience. The kitchen is beautifully equipped with Denby crockery, cutlery, and tableware, elegant Dartington crystal glassware, and premium John Lewis saucepans — perfect for everything from simple breakfasts to special evening meals. Plastic tableware is also provided for younger guests.
Everything has been carefully considered to make cooking here a pleasure, with stunning coastal scenery providing the perfect backdrop — dining in is every bit as enjoyable as dining out.
The master bedroom has been tastefully furnished with a light oak Ercol king-size bedstead and luxurious pocket-sprung Hypnos mattress for a restful night’s sleep. A large wardrobe and bedside drawers provide ample storage, and a travel cot can be provided upon request. Leading directly from the bedroom is the fully tiled en-suite shower room, complete with an indulgent drench shower and heated towel rail — adding an extra touch of comfort and relaxation.
The second bedroom offers flexible sleeping with Hypnos zip-and-link beds, which can be configured as either two longer-length (6'6") single beds or one super king-size bed - ideal for families or couples. A light oak Ercol wardrobe and matching bedside drawers provide ample storage, while the coastal inspired blue and white curtains and coordinating soft furnishings create a fresh, welcoming space suitable for children, teenagers or adults.
For added comfort and convenience, both bedrooms feature a flat-screen TV, a PURE Bluetooth/DAB digital alarm clock radio, hairdryer and plenty of soft towels for all guests.
The spacious family bathroom is fully tiled and fitted with contemporary white Italian sanitary ware, including a bath, heated chrome towel rail, and a large bathroom cabinet — perfect for keeping all those holiday essentials neatly organised.
Sea Spray benefits from two inviting outdoor seating areas. To the front, a private patio leads onto the communal gardens and enjoys breathtaking sea views—perfect for a morning coffee while planning the day ahead. To the rear, a south-facing, fully enclosed terrace is sheltered from the wind and basks in sunshine - a real sun trap! Both the patio and rear terrace are furnished with table and four chairs, and the rear terrace also includes sun-loungers, making it an ideal spot to relax with a good book or unwind after a day sightseeing or at the beach.
A high chair and travel cot can be provided upon request, although we kindly ask guests to bring their own cot bedding.
Fibre WiFi (c. 56mbps) makes the apartment an ideal choice for guests wishing to work remotely, with the dining area doubling as a bright and inspiring workspace. Security at The Sands Apartments — including gated access and high walls surrounding the rear terrace — provides additional peace of mind, particularly for a ground-floor property.
With sumptuous underfloor heating and remote-controlled mood lighting, Sea Spray is a wonderful holiday home combining comfort, elegance, and a superb location. A true home-from-home, Sea Spray has been thoughtfully designed so that every detail contributes to a relaxing and enjoyable stay — equally inviting for summer escapes and cosy winter breaks.
The apartment is just a short stroll from Carbis Bay station, ideal for catching the scenic branch line into St Ives (a journey of approximately three to four minutes). The beautiful golden sands of Carbis Bay’s Blue Flag beach are just a 5–10 minute walk away (please note the return walk is uphill and may take a little longer). The South West Coast Path is also easily accessible, offering spectacular walks into St Ives and beyond.
Carbis Bay forms part of the stunning coastline known as St Ives Bay, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful bays in the world and chosen as the backdrop for the 2021 G7 Summit. With its unique microclimate, golden beaches, clear turquoise waters, and subtropical planting, this part of West Cornwall has a distinctly Mediterranean feel. The area’s remarkable quality of light has long attracted artists, writers, and creatives throughout the year.
While Carbis Bay offers a peaceful and tranquil setting, it is easy to travel into the vibrant centre of St Ives, with its many galleries, excellent restaurants, and varied beaches. Carbis Bay is perfect for those who wish to dip in and out of the energy of St Ives while enjoying serene surroundings and breathtaking scenery.
The area is home to several highly regarded eateries, and the apartments are just 0.3 miles from Carbis Bay Hotel, making both Sea Shells and Sea Spray ideally situated for guests attending weddings, spa days and events there.
Although Sea Shells and Sea Spray each have a private parking space, the local branch line connects with the main line at St Erth for routes to Penzance and beyond, so a car is by no means essential.

A fantastic place to stay
By Jane S on 25-Mar-2026What a fantastic place to stay, everything from the location (wow what a view), the cleanliness, how well equipped it was to the ease of booking with a very helpful host. You won’t be disappointed it’s lovely and roomy inside beautifully furnished also with a lovely outside aspect (front and back of the property). You can easily access the local train that runs to and from St Ives which is a great bonus but the walk in is a definite must to see the beautiful Surroundings and costal view. I would not hesitate to book this apartment again in this beautiful part of the Country. There are a few restaurants near by (a nice tapas) plus the hotel at the bottom of the hill in the beach club do some lovely food. But lots of restaurants in St Ives you will be spoilt for choice. Tip take some trainers so you can walk and experience the location on foot as it’s stunning. The apartment was brilliant for us
By Alison on 14-Oct-2025The apartment worked brilliantly for us. A very short walk from Carbis Bay station and no more than 10 minutes walk down to the beautiful beach and to Carbis Bay Hotel. As Fay advised it is a steep hill to the apartment (and also very steep walking back from the beach) but so convenient. The accomodation was peaceful, spotlessly clean and comfortably and thoughtfully furnished and decorated. The kitchen was very well equipped. Pretty views from living room patio over garden and St Ives in the distance. A few minutes by train to St Ives but also an attractive walk. Fay was very friendly and welcoming and quick to respond. We would happily stay again.
