Description

1 Porthminster Apartments is tucked away in a leafy corner at the top of Porthminster Terrace, on the east side of St Ives. This means you don't have to negotiate the narrow streets of the town to access it. It's a fairly quiet spot, ideal for admiring the sea view from the front garden or enjoying meals and evening drinks in the courtyard in the afternoon and evening sunshine.

The apartment is situated on the ground-floor of a recently renovated end of terrace Victorian house with a dedicated private parking space, which is easily accessed, right outside the apartment, between the front garden and the courtyard. It has a lockable parking post.

South-facing and sunny with a lovely sea view from the side bay window of the sitting room and from the front garden, the apartment is light and spacious, tastefully furnished and equipped to a high standard.

It has TWO BEDROOMS with comfortable beds. One BEDROOM has a king-sized bed, wardrobe and bedside tables plus an EN SUITE BATHROOM; the other BEDROOM has twin beds, wardrobe and bedside tables and has an adjacent SHOWER ROOM. Both bathrooms have modern, luxury fittings: the en suite bathroom room has a bath with powerful shower over, WC & washbasin and an attractive courtyard leads from this bedroom. A separate large shower-room, washbasin & WC is next to the second bedroom which is quite separately located in the apartment. This provides considerable privacy - ideal for 2 couples or a couple with children.

A well equipped, open-plan KITCHEN leads from the spacious SITTING/DINING ROOM where you have attractive, comfortable seating, 40" flatscreen Smart TV + DVD player, plus a lovely coastal view from the side bay window.

Facilities include: Welcome pack on arrival, free wi-fi, gas central heating/instant hot water, heated towel rails; duvets, clean fresh bedding and towels (1 x bath sheet + 1 x hand towel per person) are supplied and the beds are made up; washer/dryer, Bosch electric fan oven, gas hob with extractor, microwave, freestanding fridge/freezer, dishwasher; double glazed throughout, flat screen digital 40" Smart TV in sitting room with DVD player.

Outside there is a FRONT GARDEN for guests' sole use and this also enjoys the fine sea view, plus there's a separate westerly facing COURTYARD for visitors' sole use with a dining set to seat 4 people. The front garden enjoys a southerly aspect and the courtyard is west-facing - ideal for evening dining! The location is quiet and we ask visitors not to party or play loud music.

We welcome babies and, if required, a travel cot and high chair is available on request - we hire baby equipment from our cleaning company and pass on the small charge at cost to our guests.

Regrettably we cannot accept pets.

It's a short, 5-minute stroll to Porthminster beach, St Ives' bustling centre, pretty harbour, galleries, restaurants and fascinating shops. St Ives' other lovely beaches are all within walking distance too but please note: St Ives is hilly and the apartment is situated on a short but fairly steep terrace. The walk to and from the beach and the town also involves some steps and some steep walking at times.

Our apartment is cleaned by a professional housekeeping company whose staff have been trained to carry out exacting cleaning and disinfecting protocols.

Please note: we ask for a 25% reservation deposit on booking, plus a £250 damage deposit to be paid with the balance (due 6 weeks before arrival). The damage deposit is normally refunded within a week of your departure, assuming no damage.

Our accommodation is available for weekly lets during peak times, plus short lets off season.

We only accept bookings from families and/or couples. We do not accept bookings for student groups, single sex parties or hen and stag parties unless by prior written arrangement.

In the event of your having to cancel your reservation during a period of travel restrictions due to CoVid19, we will refund all monies paid. Please see our T&Cs, available on request.

Super smart apartment

We've stayed in holiday lets many times over the years, including several in St Ives. Lauran's apartment is far and away ahead of anything we've rented before. Basically, it's exactly like the pictures! Very spacious, (which is unusual for St Ives); tastefully decorated and furnished with good quality items. The beds were particularly high quality and, needless to say, the standard of cleanliness was exemplary. As long as you're able to navigate a hill or a flight of steps into the town, you're about 5-10 minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle of the main area. Having dedicated parking was a bonus too! The week we stayed it rained every day which limited some of our planned activities. However, Lauran's apartment was so big, airy and comfortable, we were very happy to spend much of our time there. Highly recommend!

What a gem of a place and a host. Lauran was friendly, helpful and responsive. The apartment itself is exactly as pictured and described. We found it homely, peaceful and well equipped. It’s just a 10 minute walk to the beach and perhaps even less to get into town. St Ives was fantastic. We’d recommend this apartment to anyone, it really is that good.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay here, the apartment was brilliant. Light, airy, very clean, sea views from the bay window, incredibly comfortable beds/bedding, two decent bathrooms with good water pressure in the showers (sometimes hard to come by!), well equipped kitchen, nicely decorated and put together, private parking space and a little outdoor space too! Lauran offered fantastic and friendly communication, along with a host of recommendations for the area - we didn't need to contact at any point, but I believe had there been any issue, it would have been swiftly tackled. The apartment is a short 5 - 10 minute walk (downhill) into St Ives and easy to travel from via car to any other destinations you're visiting for the day. It really is such a lovely and comfortable place to have as your base while visiting Cornwall, I can't think of a single negative point to note - very much worth booking and I would more than happily book to stay here again! Lauran was very helpful and friendly and was like communicating with an old friend from the start. We had a wonderful few days. The car parking space was essential and we did not use the car again during our stay as everything was within walking distance. We had some lovely meals in St Ives and breakfast overlooking the harbour and the sea was very special from the Pedn Olver hotel restaurant just a few minutes' walk away. We wouldn't hesitate to book again as we enjoyed staying in the flat so much. Thank you Lauran for a great stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Lauran's flat. From the moment of booking, communication has been excellent. Check in was super easy & the flat is beautiful. It was spotlessly clean, big, bright & airy.
