Great Lodge in Devon Countryside

7 Cedar Lodge was all we asked for in a holiday from the delicious scones and clotted cream which were left for us and the lovely touch of a dog biscuit for Vinnie we felt at home. The lodge is beautifully appointed with every eventuality catered for, games for the rain and comfortable garden chairs for the verandah on sunny days. We wanted for nothing in the kitchen loads of equipment, cutlery and crockery. I must also make a special mention of the decor, the paintings, prints and cushions appealed to animal lovers like us. The lodge is in a very quiet position but only 3 miles from Tavistock and on the edge of Dartmoor but in an easy enough position if you wish to range further afield. All in all a wonderful week.

Excellent Lodge Great for Dartmoor

By Steve Quance on 16-Jul-2018

This lodge is fitted out to a very high standard with ample crockery and cutlery. There is easy access to Dartmoor and Bodmin, Plymouth is a straightforward drive for larger shops. We were very lucky with the weather and had picnics on the slopes of Brentor beneath the church at sunset and sat on the decking outside of the lodge watching the Milky Way. We were also looking at the lodge as a possible holiday destination to take our disabled son and the only thing missing is a washing machine which would be handy to wash dirty clothes after a walk on wet moors. We were assured though that there was a good laundrette in Tavistock which is a 5 minute drive away. We will definitely be back.

Spot On

There's nothing amiss from this accommodation, Tracy the owner has thought of everything you could possibly need from the well stocked kitchen, the comfy bed, great showers, a relaxing lounge especially after a hard day walking, cycling or site seeing she's also added masses of information for things to do, local attractions, walks, sites of interest, cycle paths and loads more. Our little dog settled in immediately and the fresh scones with cream and jam were a welcome surprise. We loved the added soft furnishings and the home from home feel about the lodge, the views were lovely and spent evenings on the outside decking supping wine and chilling in the cooling evening breeze. Tracy has added a good selection of Dvds, books and board games to cater for all ages, overall the accommodation is first class situated in beautiful countryside.

Ideal location for touring Dartmoor. The lodge is well equipped and maintained with stunning views from the comfortable balcony. The owners are very helpful and friendly and being able to take our three Border Collies was a bonus.

Back again

By Hudson on 23-Oct-2017

We just can’t stop visiting Cedar Lodge, the owners go out of there way to make this a home from home and you won’t be disappointed, even in the winter, this lodge makes a great base for exploring Dartmoor and the surrounding towns and villages and when you get back, a nice warm lodge with everything you needs awaits. Already looking forward to our next visit. Thanks again for a lovely stay

Great Place To Stay

By Susanne D on 01-Oct-2017

This was our second stay at this lovely lodge. Inside gives you everything and more you need for a great holiday. We had a cream tea waiting for us when we arrived. Great views. If you want a great place to eat we would advice you to try Peter Tavy Inn and you can take your dogs.

Awesome Accommodation

A fantastic place to stay, a short distance from Tavistock town with great food, shops and a lovely market in the town hall. A large, comfortable, airy lodge with great views, very well appointed with all the conveniences you could ask for and then some Even parking at the door. Tracy is a great host to deal with and the little welcoming touches are a real treat. We would recommend 7 Cedar Lodge to anyone looking for a great countryside escape.

A real home from home

This is a lovely, spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped holiday lodge in a good location close to all amenities in nearby Tavistock. We didn't have the best weather, unfortunately, so did not make use of the outdoor seating area which was a shame. The cream tea was very welcome on arrival too. Thanks for a great stay.

Mr

My husband booked a lodge for us at Cedar Lodge Park for a family holiday, despite it being half term the price was very reasonable. The owner, Tracy, sent us all the information in good time. When we arrived we were greeted with what can only be described as luxury accommodation; the lodge was beautiful! To welcome us there was a cream tea laid out for us and some biscuits for our dog and we enjoyed this on our first evening. The lodge had everything you could possibly need and more. All the essentials and lots after added extras; a selection of DVD's, puzzles, games, books, lots of storage space and copious amounts of quirk. The view from the lodge was exquisite and early mornings on the decking with a cup of tea were heavenly. The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean and homely. The lodge is only a short drive or slightly longer walk from Tavistock, a lovely town with even lovelier people. Most places we visited were not only dog friendly but dog lovers and this played a major part in the enjoyment of the holiday. The biggest draw of the holiday was that we could take our dog with us and the lodge park and the surrounding area were perfect, our pooch enjoyed the holiday as much as we did. We would highly recommend to dog lovers and also those without furry friends... Absolutely amazing!
