Teignmouth is a stunning coastal town with historic Georgian buildings, long sandy beaches, and fresh local food. The town sits on the edge of the mouth of River Teign and the South Devon coast – and is surrounded by lush Devon countryside, so you won’t find a more beautiful setting for a holiday.
Located on the main South West train line, Teignmouth is an easy journey from London, along the most spectacular coastal train route in the country. Dartmoor National Park, Exeter and Torquay are just a few miles from Teignmouth, making it an ideal central location to explore the rest of South Devon.
Things to do in Teignmouth Teignmouth is the ideal family holiday destination – with a Victorian Pier, lido, play park, crazy golf and skate park all within easy reach of the beaches and town centre to keep the kids entertained. Teignmouth beaches are great for family days out, Teignmouth Town beach is a long expanse of sand with the pier, arcades and promenade. Local watersports are also on offer if you want to try kayaking, coasteering or paddle boarding. The town itself has beautiful Georgian buildings and a lovely high street for a bit of retail therapy. On the promenade, Teignmouth Pavilions hosts a regular cinema and child friendly events all year round.
Across the river is the quaint village of Shaldon which has beautiful views across to Teignmouth, and is home to the Ness and a smugglers tunnel cut through the South Devon cliffs. Ideal for walking, Teignmouth is on the South West Coast Path, as well as at the end of the Templer Way, an 18 mile walking trail which traces the historic line of granite being taken from the quarries at Haytor on Dartmoor, to the docks at Teignmouth. The walk follows the Stover Canal, and is one of many scenic footpaths covering South Devon.

Fabulous Escape In Glorious Teignmouth
By Donna S on 11-Jun-2018
i've just came back from a lovely time in teignmouth which was so unexpected,as a surprise for our anniversary. Apartment One was where we stayed in had fabulous views over looking the beach and shaldon, the apartments were at a very high standard, spotlessly clean and very modern, weather was amazing and took full advantage of our own balcony with outside table and chairs and sun loungers,we highly recommend this amazing place and hopefully come back for a longer time.
Fourth Year In A Row - Upgraded Wifi!
By Laura Manning on 28-May-2018
This was our fourth stay at Riviera Apartments and feels like home from home. The view is just spectacular, the apartments themselves and very comfortable and contemporary, the kitchen (not that we use it much) is very well stocked, there is even a muffin tray which my daughter did use! The wifi has been recently upgraded and it was much improved.
Teignmouth itself is as lovely as ever, The Beachcomber restaurant is closed as they suffered a fire and is a great loss to the seafront Apartment from that it is a great location for families and couples, there are still many places to get a great cup of coffee although we do miss the view from the beachcomber.
For a day out I would recommend a trip on the Teignmouth to Shaldon Ferry, lunch at The Clipper, a few glasses of wine while the children catch crabs from the jetty and a lovely ferry trip back. There is so much to do in Teignmouth and Shaldon we leave our car there all week and don't go back.
Exeter is only a short trip by train which my teenagers love for their shopping. Teignmouth train station is only a 5 minute walk and the journey right into the heart of Exeter takes 20 minutes.
Sorry to leave, can't wait to go back! Thank you for another lovely stay
Fantastic Location - Beautiful View!
By Donna P on 29-Apr-2018
These apartments are top notch. Loved the spacious living area and spectacular views. Arrived to a home made cake which was nice.
We loved our stay, found the toilet cramped (friends hubby is 6’4”), could do with removing the decorative vanity thing but it wouldn’t stop us booking again, we loved it.
Location is unbelievable, so close to all the restaurants and pubs. Loved it!!
Wow What A View!!
By Ann Turner on 16-Apr-2018
Breathtaking view and beautiful Apartment with really comfy beds. Balcony, apartment, kitchen and all appliances were spotless. While we were there the lid broke on our kettle and after a quick phone call to Emma we had a brand new replacement bought to our door the same afternoon. Brilliant service and after trying so many self catering apartments in the area and being disappointed we won't be letting this one go, can't wait to go back!

Stayed in penthouse 2 for two nights. The Apartment is amazing; from the views to the quality of the furnishings and equipment. Very comfortable bed and in an excellent location. We had a welcome pack of milk tea coffee sugar and a delicious chocolate chip cake. We will definitely be back.
