Booked Swallow Lodge for a family birthday weekend with six adult and two children.
Lodge is very large and spacious with a great log burner and three bathrooms, which is very handy.
All bedding a towels are provided as are all kitchen utensils - if you are planning anything other than breakfast you might need to bring a few things.
Lodge is in a good location and easy to get into Masham and a short walk from the local village with a pub.
Great accommodation at a very reasonable price
A Beautiful Log Cabin
By Dale Griffa, Conneticut USA on 31-Mar-2019
A beautiful log cabin in North Yorkshire located on a quiet road was the perfect short term getaway. We happened to be greeted by David and his wife unexpectedly and it was a warm welcome to his property. There was attention to detail, i.e. a coffee pot with excellent coffee as well as a nice selection of teas. There is plenty of room for everyone to have their own space for quiet time or a gathering in front of the fireplace and meals in the dining area off of the kitchen. The view of the sheep across the road was especially nice while cleaning up,the dishes after breakfast. The house was beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday and the twinkle lights on the front entrance were a nice welcome home after a long day of sightseeing. The property is located near a number of sights and it was great to be able to visit the nearby villages and markets. I have had the pleasure of staying at a number of different Airbnb’s and I would highly recommend this property if you looking for that great long weekend or for a longer stay. Thank you David for an amazing stay!

What a great find,
By Marco Randelovic on 31-Jan-2019
What a great find, we had a great few days staying at Swallow Lodge. The building was nice and cosy even in the middle of the winter thanks to the underfloor heating and log fire. The amenities were brilliant, the kitchen had everything you need to cook and clean (dishwasher was great). The lodge itself is in a secluded spot, 15 minute walk from any other buildings so it was nice to be away from it all. David was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. Would really recommend staying here!nger stay. Thank you David for an amazing stay!

Swallow lodge is a modern, yet warm and cosy place to stay. The location is great, very peaceful, surrounded by fields. The lodge itself has such a cosy feel, underfloor heating, the log burner, christmas tree, Christmas lights And comfortable sofas make it a great place to stay and relax. 3 bathrooms 2 with giant drench showers and one with a lovely large free standing bath with a great waterfall style tap! Hot water is plentiful and never had any issue with not having enough, the bedrooms are all very cosy with large cupboards with clothes rails for storage, comfortable beds and two of the bedrooms had en-suites. The kitchen is very modern, with a dishwasher, washing machine, cooker, hobs, toaster, microwave, wine cooler, fridge freezer - everything you need! David was great as a host, excellent communication from when i first booked a few months ago, quick replies both via txt and air bnb - even left a bottle of prosecco which was a lovely touch and also coffee/tea/sugar/cleaning products. The house was very clean and is a credit to David. A real authentic Wooden lodge with all the modern facilities that still maintains a cosy and warm feel. If you want utter relaxation in a rural location with beautiful surroundings then do not hesitate to book - I will definitely be back next year.
Fantastic holiday house

We booked Swallow Lodge for a week from September 8th 2018 for 3 adults. The position of the house is in a very secluded plot just outside the tiny village of Thornton Watless. The views from every window is just fantastic, nothing but fields. We had a daily visit from a pheasant & thats about all we saw. It's a great position for daily trips into the Dales or the North Yorkshire Moors.
The house is modern, stylish & very light inside. Evenings were cosy with the underfloor heating & there is also a log burner. The kitchen had everything you would want with lots of cupboard space. The upstairs bedrooms were roomy & again lots of hanging & drawer space. We even had hairdryers & towels in our rooms. Bathrooms were all a good size too.
We all had a super week & would have no hesitation in recommending Swallow Lodge

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Swallow Lodge recently and we were not disappointed. The property is large and rustic on the outside with an ultra modern yet cosy interior. My husband and I along with our 2 dogs felt immediately at home. It was my birthday whilst we were there and the owner had so very kindly left me a bottle of fizz and a birthday card, what a lovely genuine thing to do. the lodge was spotless and the beds were extremely comfy.
The views from the two balconies were stunning, looking across the Yorkshire countryside and the Swallows that obviously give the lodge it's name did not disappoint and made an appearance.
We will definitely be staying here again, it's a real home from home with a luxury touch and in a beautiful part of the world.
