8/24/2024 at 5:30 PM You responded on 8/25/2024 at 9:21 AM Thank you so much for your review, I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thanks again. I hope we can welcome you back in the future. I have translated the review so I can share in the UK. We were allowed to spend a week in this magical holiday home. It is not only very tastefully furnished, you can also find everything you need and everything is very well thought out and above all very clean. This house, this terrace, this view are simply fantastically beautiful and we highly recommend it. Thank you Judith for the reliable and friendly communication and the many tips we found in the brown folder. The garden is great for dog owners, as it is completely fenced.
For this short break in Thurlestone , third week in May we decided to rent out a small cottage called Peacehaven, perched on a high knoll facing SW with views over Bantham Bay , Bigbury Bay and beyond encompassing the unique Burgh Island made famous by the crime writer of the 20th century Agatha Christie .Judith (the owner) presented the cottage in excellent condition and decor all very modern yet tasteful all to match its surroundings , beds were very comfortable , sofas and chairs were equally obliging , no shortages of the essentials in the kitchen dept so everything you would need was there all neat and clean . The communal bathroom was bang up to date very stylish , the shower needed carefull management due to what seemed slightly variable water pressure but it was no problem . All in all it was a cottage that is deserving of another visit in the most stunning of villages in the Devonian South Hams .
Getting to Peacehaven was quite an event, the main roads are easy to navigate. The lanes are a different story, narrow with passing places, very constricted by high banks needing a lot of concentration to navigate safely. Wind your door mirrors in unless you want the drivers side damaged by passing traffic on the lanes. Peacehaven once reached gave fabulous views out to Bigbury on Sea, Banntham Bay, Burgh Island and its hotel with the seascape beyond as well as the estuary leading inland. The bungalow is well appointed and mirrors a home from home, everything you want is there and Judy has put some nice touches to help with your stay. Being the type of people who move around a lot visiting places of interest the whole area does not disappoint at all. The highlight for us was The Burgh Island Hotel where we had afternoon tea in Art Deco surroundings, very professional staff who were all extremely helpful. The return trip to Bigbury was by the Sea Tractor in five feet of tidal water, an experience also not to be missed as you stand on the high rise platform above the water below. Make sure you also do the Round Robin experience of Bus,Train, Ferry and Boat. You’ll see much of the area in different modes of transport. 4/27/2024 at 7:51 PM

A great property, very nicely furnished and maintained, great bed linen, very comfortable beds, no expense has been spared in making this a very comfortable home away from home. Great views too.

Thank you so much for your review.
Staying in this lovely area of Devon in the dark days of early December, our expectations of changeable weather were fully realised. However, the ever-present but changing view from the window of this warm, comfortable bungalow brought us joy every day. The property is clean, tidy and very comfortable with a great bed and nice log burner. The owner is always on-hand via email to support with questions and any problems. Walks from Thurlestone kept us busy in dry periods and we certainly clocked up the miles. Would thoroughly recommend a stay.
