Leave ReviewCosy, relaxing, peaceful and calm.....
By Lynn McGill on 22-Mar-2024Our stay at Hazelcot was peaceful and relaxing, and the feel of the cottage was welcoming, just what we needed! This cosy, traditionally furnished cottage, was perfect for two adult couples and two dogs. The well equipped kitchen was perfect for us to make yummy homemade meals, and the cottage is situated just a short walk from a pub serving the best fish n chips in the south west! We will definitely be returning later in the year, and recommend the cottage to others looking for a peaceful get away! Thank you.
Hazel Cot
By Jacqui Passey on 18-Oct-2019Myself, husband ,son and dog have just spent October half term week at this cosy little cottage. It is in a great position overlooking the lake but so close to the beach. This was ideal for me as I have walking difficulties and ideal for dog owners .Our dog loved his early morning beach walk and swim. The cottage itself is lovely. Although small it was perfect for us and well equipped with everything you could need. It was very clean and well looked after, the beds were extremely comfortable too. Very prompt attention from the owners at all times. Morag and Peter even posted back my kindle which I had left behind ! So all in all a lovely peaceful break and the sun shining for us every day was the icing on the cake. So thank you Morag and Peter and we will definitely be back next year.
Fabulous Cottage
By Mark Coburn on 23-Jun-2018A fabulous cottage and a great base for your Devon experience! With a pub 50 yds away and the beautiful beach on your doorstep it is picture postcard! A very peaceful location cottage has everything you need for your stay and being able to take our golden retriever with us and for her to be able to run on the beach made the stay even better! — Mark Coburn, 23 Jun 2018
So relaxing
By Fiona on 08-Jun-2018We love the location and know it well but this was the first visit to Hazelcott and we were thrilled with our stay. We had everything we needed. A very comfortable bed, a washing machine and parking covered with the ticket that covered all local towns. The cottage has a washing machine which is such a bonus so that we didn't need to take too much and bring it home clean. All in all a lovely holiday thank you
Cosy cottage between the Ley and the sea
By Karen J. on 10-May-2016Date of Stay 28 Apr 2016 We recently stayed at your lovely cottage overlooking the Ley in Torcross. As soon as we walked in the door it felt like home. The cottage has been furnished to a very high standard with everything we could possibly need during our stay and it was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the window seat in the main bedroom was a lovely spot to sit and watch the swans and other birds going about their business. We enjoyed walking with our dogs straight from the cottage onto the coastal paths and the beach, which is dog friendly all year round. There was a local shop close by, and a farm shop half a mile away in the local garden centre. We ate at various local hostelries including the Start Bay Inn on the sea front which was excellent. We will definitely be booking the cottage again soon to enjoy more of the beautiful countryside and coastal paths in the area. Thank you Morag and Peter for sharing your gorgeous cottage.
Comfortable, warm and friendly cottage
By Alison M on 10-May-2016Date of Stay 25 Mar 2016 This is the fourth time we have come back to Hazelcot, with another stay booked for October 16! We love the homeliness of the cottage - it is warm, inviting, cosy and clean and located in a idyllic spot to enjoy Torcross itself as well Dartmouth, Salcombe and Kingsbridge. The kitchen has recently been refurbished and looks great. We enjoyed eating a hearty breakfast at the Sea Breeze or Stokeley's Farm just up the road and evening meals in the Start Bay Inn or 'The Shack' (BYO) down at Beesands which serves freshly caught fish daily. Our five year old daughter loves playing on the beach and feeding the ducks on the Ley. A beautiful spot for a getaway break.
