Monkswell Park dates back to the 1920s, and is described in Pevsner's Buildings of England as 'The most distinguished property tucked into the slopes overlooking Hope Cove with wings angled to create a protected terrace with veranda facing the sea.' With fabulous sea views over Lyme Bay Monkswell Park benefits from an extremely rural and quiet, picturesque cliff top location, but is only one and a half miles from Torquay town centre, and approximately twenty miles from the historic city of Exeter.
There are excellent local shops and restaurants nearby, and a sandy beach within half a mile of the property. There is also 'near-private' access to a pebble beach from the one and a half acre lawn garden. The nearest railway station is Torquay although Newton Abbot is only seven miles away. The nearest airport is Exeter
Please note:- At Low Season (October 1st to May 31st) a £260.00 non-returnable deposit secures the week that is required, and is payable upon booking. An additional balance payment of £110.00 per person per week is charged, and is payable 30 days prior to occupation. At High Season (June 1st to September 30th) it is a booking/holding deposit of £350.00 followed by a balance payment of £150.00 per person, per week
Only Monkswell Park Cottage sleeps 5-6 persons, and please note there are no additional charges if a bank holiday is part of your chosen week/s, this being handled on a first come first served basis.
Booking are made Saturday to Saturday for Monkswell Park Cottage and Thursday to Thursday for Monkswell Park Garden Rooms.
High and low season refer to any required week commencing with a Saturday or Thursday falling between the dates as identified above, and will be available for occupation at around 15.00 hours, vacation please by 11.00 hours.
Bookings will not be accepted unless accompanied with the relevant deposit. If a reservation is made less than 30 days before arrival, the full rental is immediately due. Non payment by due dates will be treated as a cancellation and re-letting may take place.
It would be appreciated if any faulty equipment, breakage, and/or accidental damage is found or incurred during the occupation, that it be reported as soon as possible. We trust also, that should the occupant cause any damage, responsibility will be taken, and that a contribution to reparation will be made.
Please Note also that for the purposes of insurance, and in consideration for the majority of our guests smoking is not permitted. Further, but for the exception of registered guide dogs, pets are not allowed, and no hen or stag will be accepted.

Delightful, Idyllic with lovely views over the garden towards the sea with the birds singing was out of this world, perhaps this is why we have had more than one holiday here. the Cottage is so delightful and kept so clean with everything you need with the welcome you get from the owners we feel like we are family.

We spent a fabulous Christmas break at Monkswell Park Cottage. Jenny and Julian were very helpful before and during our stay. As they live next door to the cottage they are very convenient should you have a problem , which luckily we didn’t. They decorated the house for Christmas and we felt very much at home. The house has a beautiful lawned garden with views of the sea and a private steeply stepped access to a little cove. There are at least 2 very nice restaurants within walking distance. We would love to visit in the summer and hope to return. I would highly recommend staying here.

spent ten glorious days here , accommodation first class hosts can not do enough views and gardens are stunning, web site does not do this accommodation justice
