Our lovely holiday house Pendeen offers plenty of space for a family to relax in, a pretty enclosed garden and provides parking for two cars. The lively town of Wadebridge is the perfect location from which to explore the stunning and dramatic North Cornwall coastline and within a short drive you have a choice of seven or eight sandy beaches, miles of rugged coastal footpath or the evocative Bodmin Moor. The popular destinations of Newquay, Padstow, Rock and Port Isaac (home to Doc Martin) are easily reached by car, public transport or even bicycle! Wadebridge offers a wide selection of independent shops, boutiques, restaurants, public houses and a cinema. A children’s park is within easy walking distance. The town is at the heart of the famous Camel Cycle Trail which links, via wonderful, traffic-free scenery, Bodmin Moor to the coast at Padstow. Relax in our pretty and secluded garden after a day on the beach or curl up in our cosy lounge after a bracing coastal walk. Short breaks are available.
On the ground floor Pendeen has a well-equipped family kitchen and separate dining room, a lounge with television, DVD and WiFi. There is also a twin room, bunk room with adult-sized beds and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Upstairs there is a double room with en-suite shower room. Outside we have paved parking for two cars and a sheltered garden with table, chairs and barbeque.
When we first started visiting Cornwall we visited Daymer Bay, the perfect place for holidays with little children – lovely sand, shallow sea, a stream for damming and plenty of rock pools at low tide. But as our family grew older we needed a base with more choices and Pendeen Cottage provided the perfect place. From Wadebridge we discovered it was a quick drive to Harlyn and Watergate for surfing, we could launch our kayak and paddle up or down stream and we could use the beautiful Camel Cycle Trail to explore Cornwall’s lovely inland scenery. As we live in a village at home, staying in a small town has also proved a novelty especially as there are independent shops offering a variety of local produce and plenty of pretty things to look at – and even a cinema within walking distance for those days with less than perfect weather!
Wadebridge is only a 30 minute car journey from Fowey and Newquay, it takes about 45 minutes to drive to Truro and about an hour to St Ives or Falmouth. For those that don’t want to drive buses leave in all directions from the main street. Our garden is private, secure and sheltered - there’s nothing better than taking your breakfast outside or eating a cream tea in the garden after a hard day on the beach. The house itself is big enough to accommodate a family but not so large that a couple is lost in it – we hope that you enjoy staying there as much as we do.
“Lovely bungalow that has been very well maintained and was a pleasure to stay in.”

It had everything you needed, was a few minutes walk from Wadebridge town centre and is a lovely base for exploring Cornwall. Parking was excellent and the road is very quiet.
“Had a great stay at this property, excellent location and great value for money.”

Really liked the homely feel of the kitchen and the vast array of appliances. Would stay again.
“The house was very clean and well equipped and beds were comfortable, generally very good.”
By Mrs Glennerster on 12-Aug-2019
A couple of reclining type chairs would have been nice to enjoy the sun in the garden and some bigger towels, maybe bath sheets . The main problem that we found is that the ceiling in the master bedroom next to the bed was very sloped and as we are both 6’ tall we did bang our heads a couple of times . Overall though I would say 4/5 because of these small points. Location was great, just a five minute walk to Wadebridge shops and cafes
“What a fantastic cottage, fully equipped like a home from home.”

“Pendeen is really fantastic.”
By Mr Wilson on 30-Apr-2019
The photographs do not do it justice. It is very spacious. It is spotlessly clean and very well furnished and equipped. Beautiful garden. Well located, a few minutes walk into the town centre and 5 minutes to the A39 so travelling to other areas of Cornwall is convenient. I would recommend this cottage.

“Well, we have just spent a great .”
By Mrs Pimblett on 02-Jun-2018
Well, we have just spent a great week at Pendeen, Wadebridge. The house is lovely and very well equipped and it had such a homely feel we felt very relaxed here. The beds were super comfy and the house is spacious and well located. We holidayed with our six year old daughter and my mother in law and we all had a fantastic time. The house was within walking distance of town which had a great variety of shops, restaurants and a few take aways. We took the bus to padstow, visited Lanhydrock (national trust), the lost gardens of heligan, local beaches, port issac and the camel trail is just down the road. The enclosed garden was great to sit in at the end of a busy day and for my daughter to run around. There is so much to see in the area I'm sure we will be back next year!
“A very well appointed house, with .”
By Mrs Manning on 05-May-2018
A very well appointed house, with everything we we required, the property was spotless and the beds comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep. Two of us love baths and two prefer showers so we were well catered for. It is in easy reach of the town and ideally placed for visiting the area. Whilst at Pendeen we were able to go to two National Trust properties, Trerice and Trelissick, which we were close by. We enjoyed a very pleasant stay, the main purpose of our visit was to catch up with friends in the area, although would have preferred more spring like weather, but even Sykes Cottages can’t arrange that! Thank you.
