Fabulous barn conversion

By Ruth Docherty on 09-Oct-2020

This is a fabulous barn conversion in a pretty little village with a pub. Spotlessly clean, very warm and comfortable. The lounge area is stunning. The owner is close by if you need her, we didn’t , but it’s nice to say hello. Just a few minutes drive from Pretty Whitby, it’s in a perfect location.

Beautifully furnished, lovely bathroom facilities and very clean

By Ms Julie Davey on 31-Aug-2020

The barn was beautifully furnished, lovely bathroom facilities and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. Everything we thought we may need, it was there to hand, as well as some nice touches. Ilona, the host, lived in the house next door and was on hand for recommendations and any queries. Having said that she also kept a respectful distance. This enabled us to have a relaxing and enjoyable break. Very picturesque countryside and beaches. Highly recommend this quality holiday let.

Chestnut Barn is beautiful and so comfortable

By Mrs Alyson Kent on 31-Jul-2020

Chestnut Barn is beautiful and so comfortable. The host is incredibly thoughtful with little touches around the barn, flowers and a lovely welcome pack. Everything is thought of here and we wanted for nothing. We would definitely recommend staying here and will be doing so ourselves again.

We enjoyed a great week in Chestnut Barn

By Mrs Ann Mulvaney on 03-Jan-2020

It is exceptionally well equipped for a walking holiday in the North York Moors. Everything you could need is provided and the log burner proved a hit on cold nights. The beds are very comfortable and bedrooms and bathrooms are a good size. Plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes show the attention to detail by the Owner. Highly recommend.

Fantastic cottage

By Mr Steve Willgoose on 08-Nov-2019

Fantastic cottage. Really well laid out for walking. With heated stone flooring to the ground floor and a wet room just off the lobby/entrance area, the cottage was perfect for muddy walks in North Yorkshire in November. Great facilities too. The showers are amazing and the layout of the Kitchen/living space meant cooking Sunday lunch was more involving and communal. For walking holidays late in the year you need 3 things; Great showers/baths, great heating and a comfortable place to relax. This has it all. The beds/mattresses were also fantastic.

The barn was very well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay

By Mr Andrew Burns on 04-Oct-2019

The barn was very well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The owner includes lots of little extras that you might not initially think about, such as firelighters (for the log burner), extra loo rolls, additional bedding etc. We had a mixed party including an 8 week old baby and a elderly family member and everyone enjoyed their stay. One key feature of the barn is the overall size - it’s really very spacious both upstairs and down so plenty of room for a mixed party. Happy to recommend and would certainly book a return stay in the future.

Chestnut barn was one of the most comfortable holiday cottages that we’ve stayed in

By Mrs Juliet Hiden on 26-May-2019

Chestnut barn was one of the most comfortable holiday cottages that we’ve stayed in. Every year I take my daughter and two boys away and it’s always a bit of a gambol ,but Chestnut Barn had a cupboard stuffed with games for those rainy days. The furnishings were top notch and the owner was unobtrusive but available if needed. I would highly recommend the property.

Lovely Stay

By Gary C on 06-Apr-2019

Stayed here for 3 nights in January with my partners family. We were really pleased as its decorated and finished to a very high standard as well as being spacious.

We spent most of our time around the dining table eating and drinking. The cubourd has an array of games. The living room/kitchen area is cosy, modern and well equipped.

We liked every aspect of the house... and the upstairs shower is amazing!

The location is very close to Whitby bit also in a very quiet location

Fantastic family holiday

By Miss Rebecca Mack on 11-Jan-2019

There were five adults in our trip, one child and a baby. We felt like we had our own space and even though we shared a bedroom with our children we all had the best nights sleep. All of the rooms are very dark which helped and we even got a little lie in compared to our usual early morning wake up! The beds were so comfortable and the room was really spacious. The travel cot provided looked brand new (I took my own bedding for this). We cooked both nights, the kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed. The fridge is huge so did our shopping on our way there for the weekend. We really enjoyed the dining area, eating and socialising. There were lots of games in the cupboard to play. The overall feel of the barn is modern and finished to a high spec, we liked this. It is spacious in bedrooms and bathrooms. There is plenty of storage to hang coats put wellies and excellent wardrobe space too. We were here visiting family for a long weekend. The location is great 5-10 minutes to Whitby and ideal for exploring other areas. We would definitely stay again at the Chestnut Barn.

Fantastic Accomodation

By Mr Andrew Senior on 27-Nov-2017

Absolutely amazing stay, couldn’t fault the barn at all, superbly equipped and a lovely little welcome basket on arrival.
The fixtures and fitting were of high quality and it was by far the best holiday let we have stayed in, it was lovely and toastie which was brilliant as we have 2 small children, the games cupboard was a nice surprise too.
Whitby and the lovely beaches of Sandsend and Runswick bay we’re all under 20 mins away, we had a Sunday meal at the local pub which was within walking distance and a really great place to eat.
We had a brilliant time and will be returning
Thanks for a relaxing weekend

Fantastic Holiday Let

By Darren405 on 20-Apr-2017

Chose this property due to its availability of a wet room and downstairs bedroom. On arrival, totally overwhelmed by the standard of this excellent holiday let. It delivered everything we needed, and a whole lot more.
Everything we could of wished for was provided.
This barn conversion has been completed to a seriously high standard, which cannot fail but to impress. Suited us, as a family of two
Pensioners, myself and my wife with mobility issues, and my 14 year old son. Couldn't have asked for more.

Couldn't have wanted for more!

By Mr Simon Franklin on 12-Jan-2017

This cottage was perfect for our stay over Christmas. There were 6 of us in the cottage with another 2 visiting for meals etc and there was plenty of room for us all. The cottage is finished to a really high standard and the owner was extremely welcoming - she'd even baked a Christmas Cake for us!
The lounge/kitchen area was really cosy and meant that you can still socialise when eating and the wood burner was fab for adding to the cosy atmosphere and the warmth! There is everything that you need in the cottage and although we went in the winter would be a great place to stay in the summer for the beaches or for a hiking or biking holiday too.
Aislaby is a great little village with a really lovely village pub. Whitby is really easily accessible and there are fabulous beaches nearby. There are regular buses from the village to Whitby.
The cottage is set in a great location with fabulous views. We will definitely come back!

New year's family break, great location

By Iori G on 10-Jan-2017

Great location! Set within the Moors National park this barns offers everything you need and more. You get beautiful landscape views and you can easily reach the best North Yorkshire beaches and sea villages. There aren't shops next door but Whitby is only a 5min drive. We were 2 families with 2 small children(two 4yo, a 1yo and an infant) and we never run out of anything. There's also a traditional pub only a few minutes walk which offers delicious food and they're very friendly.
The barn is nice and cozy and with the underfloor heating the house it's always nice and warm(if this bothers you, you can always regulate the temperature, each room has its own).
The barn is equipped with board games and good sound system if you plan to have a laid down day.
For families there's also a good highchair with table and a travel con, we used both and they were perfect.
I can't fault this place, we travel a lot as a family and this has been the best house we've been to, plus North Yorkshire it's beautiful.
It's been like being in a hotel with the home facilities.
We've had a lovely time and would recommend this place to families as well as group of friends!
Enjoy!!

Perfect Christmas break in stunning barn conversion

By Paul Franklin on 05-Jan-2017

We had the honor of being the first guests to stay in this stunning barn conversion. Had a very friendly welcome from the owner, the village is charming with a warm welcome in the local pub. All the fixtures and furniture in the barn is high quality and the log burner was much appreciated after bracing walks on the nearby beaches.
Very comfortable, we relaxed straight away and had a great family Christmas. will definitely be back!
