An amazing place in a truly superb location.

An amazing place in a truly superb location. Comfortable, warm and full of interesting touches. We arrived on a chilly, wet, grey December afternoon and entering such a beautiful, warm cottage, twinkling with welcoming lights, was utter magic. The Folly has obviously been furnished and decorated with a great deal of love. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting Whitby. Yes, getting luggage from the car and negotiating the steep stairs requires a bit of effort ( we’re in our seventies ) but it is well rewarded. Thank you Debra for enabling us to have a happy beginning to 2023..

The folly is a great place to stay

The Folly is a great place to stay. There were two of us and our dog staying. The accommodation was spacious, comfortable and clean, plus the the cottage is an interesting and quirky place. The balcony and windows overlooking the harbour are very nice, and it was good to be able to walk straight out of the ally down to the beach. The kitchen was well equipped. Debra’s communication about getting to the cottage, parking etc were very clear. It’s only a short walk to the nearest parking which caused us no issues. Thanks very much for a great stay!

Wow what an amazing cottage and location.

Wow what an amazing cottage and location. Went for October Goth Weekend. Wish we had been warned to get there early as you need to access the cobbled streets with your car to drop your bags off and it was literally rammed. Had embarrassing but funny time getting down the street. If I did it again to stay in that area, I would come early morning, leave luggage in car and park in car park at bottom of the cobbles as check in isn’t until 3.30 normally. When we finally found and got luggage to cottage and went back off to park the car (that car park was full so had to go to the car park at top of the 199 steps and walk down.) but Wow what a view at the cottage!! It’s impossible if you have mobility problems. There’s a rope to help you up the tight stairs. Sat on the balcony (you climb through the window) to have a cuppa in the morning which was amazing! Stunning location and cottage just wish we had been pre warned more to make better arrangements. Would stay again though as stunning. Spent a lot more time in the cottage than expected as was just so relaxing laying on the very comfortable bed (and I have fibromyalgia and it was perfect) and listened to the seagulls! . Thank you For helping find the place as was hard with all the crowds but well worth it!
