An outstanding location with wonderful views and great walks. Mortehoe is lovely village and is so close to the best North Devon beaches. To top it all Andrea is a great host responding quickly and always very helpful. I would say one of the best stays we have ever had.

Absolutely fabulous holiday home by the sea

By Karen G. on 27-Jun-2018

WOW! This house is absolutely amazing. We were a family of 10 celebrating my partners Birthday and the whole week could not have been better! The house is excellent for 10 people, either family or friends. There is everything you need for a great stay, it is so well equipped and has great space for everyone to enjoy being together. The terrace and the view from it is spectacular. The main bedroom is also beautiful, it is so big and comfortable with fabulous views. Our family loved everything about the house and location and we will remember our fabulous holiday there for many years. Andrea has been brilliant from start to finish and has been so helpful and accommodating. The photos really don't do it justice, amazing place, we will be back

Stunning house in a beautiful location, as close to perfection as you can get!

By Lynsey D. on 21-Aug-2017

1st impressions as you enter the house is "wow what a view!" Absolutely breathtaking viewpoint of the North Devon coastline. The house is beautifully decorated with plenty of space for our family of 11 (6 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 children and a toddler) oh and not forgetting the dog! The huge kitchen/diner easily catered for family meals - I want that table!! And the hot tub gave hours of fun for both old and young.

The most precious memory of our holiday was made at Rockham beach, an almost secret, secluded spot which is accessible by following the coastal path at the bottom of the garden for a 10/15 minute walk - great for making beach fires and toasting marshmallows.

I'd highly recommend this property and can't wait to book a return visit.

Exceptional property, location and views.

By Rosemary B. on 14-Aug-2017

Choosing to stay at Belvedere turned out to be the best decision we could have made to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our family group comprising 6 adults & 4 children (aged 14 months to 12 years). Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, clean, tastefully decorated and close to many of North Devon's beautiful beaches. The kitchen was well equipped with lots is space. The dining table seated us all easily. The impressive view from the rear of the property overlooked the sea. The garden was stunning, filled with colour and attracting lots of butterflies on the buddleia. The huge patio provided excellent space for relaxing and enjoying the views, with the large hot tub a favourite, especially night time star gazing. There is plenty of opportunity for walking starting from the property. The pretty village of Mortehoe Is a short walk away providing access to pubs, post office, small shop and tea rooms. Andrea was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The welcome basket and card an unexpected and lovely touch. We would thoroughly recommend this luxury property for a family holiday/celebration.

1st Class

By Carol P on 08-Jan-2017

First class through and through. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner Andrea, the attention to detail was outstanding. The house was perfect and suited needs of the three generations of our family. It had everything you could need and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. The village was very quite and well serviced with local store, post office, take away and two pubs although not all opened in the winter. The views from property were stunning and it is in a perfect location to start some lovely walks. Overall a perfect stay for New Year and we are hoping to return in the summer. Would highly recommend.

The perfect place for a family gathering.

By Anonymous on 30-Aug-2016

The perfect place for 10 of us of all ages to get together to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. A beautiful, clean, very well appointed property. A lot of thought had obviously been given to the layout of this spacious well equipped house (plenty of crockery, cutlery etc). A stunning position in a quiet cul de sac but near to many of Devon's attractions and beaches. The pretty village had all we needed - the take away selling 'home made' food was lovely as was the fish and chip shop where you could get fish ready for the BBQ and the local shop was surprisingly well stocked. Andrea was so thoughtful before we went making sure it was suitable for us and leaving dvds, books and toys suitable for the grandchildren. She left lots of information, made sure we had fun and was very understanding when we had a mishap with a lamp. The hot tub was a wonderful bonus after a day walking the lovely coast path. Everyone really enjoyed themselves - walking the coast path, rock pooling at Rockham, cycling the Tarka trail and much more. A really memorable holiday.

Stunning location, superb facilities

By Rosemary H on 08-Aug-2016

Belvedere is an amazing house set in a stunning location. It is immaculately presented throughout. The ground floor is very spacious so, although we were ten in number, everyone was able to rest and relax in their own space. The kitchen is very well equipped which meant we could cook super meals and share them around a very substantial table. The extensive patio offered plenty of room for outside eating and the barbecue was an added bonus. Although our party were all adults, children are very well catered for with both indoor and outdoor games provided. The hot tub was a welcome treat after long walks along the coastal path. The views out to sea were simply breathtaking. The welcome pack was incredible. We managed to accommodate 5 cars comfortably at the front of the property. Nothing was too much trouble for our host – from the initial enquiry regarding booking the property, Andrea went out of her way to ensure that we were able to make the most of our stay. I would unreservedly recommend this property to young and old alike.

Fabulous location, immaculate house

By Diana C on 14-Jul-2016

Belvedere is a fabulous, stylish holiday house and its location in Mortehoe is top-notch. From the pretty garden with enormous terrace (the photos don't do it justice), there is a gate leading straight on to the coast path and lovely cliff walks in both directions. Meanwile, from the front door, it is a short walk into the village centre with several pubs, tea room, take aways and well-stocked village shops. We were perfectly happy for our 10 year old daughter to pop out for the newspapers, croissants and pain au chocolats in the morning - lovely. Whilst we were staying at Belvedere, we went surfing with Nick Thorn at Putsborough and body boarding there and at Croyde. We also went to Woolacombe where the waves happened to be very good but it was a lot busier and more commercialised on the beach itself. We had excellent meals at the Chichester Arms in Mortehoe, the Rock Inn at Georgeham and the Sandleigh Tea Room at Croyde, but also made good use of the kitchen and barbeque at the house. Andrea couldn't have been more helpful, giving us lots of relevant information and tips before the trip. The house itself was spotless, comfortable and extremely well-equipped. We would certainly like to stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending it for a luxury, relaxing break.

Spectacular house in breathtaking location

By Oliver Gaudion on 20-Jun-2016

The photos on the website looked impressive enough when deciding on which property to book, however even they do not do this place justice. The house was immaculate, very well fitted out and with everything you could possibly need for a week away. The patio at the back, the garden and the views were simply spectacular, the perfect setting for a summers BBQ. The "infinity" hot tub went down well too! I would recommend anyone to come and stay and we will all most certainly be returning.

Amazing, fantastic, stunning, where do i stop!

By Andrew B on 14-Jun-2016

The property exceeded our expectations from the very start, from the very friendly and helpful lady to speak to with regards to the booking, and the outstanding house and facilities! Oh and don't forget the amazing view! We had a long weekend at the property and did not want to leave! So much to do and see, but it was the house the made it perfect! Well done and I would certainly recommend this to others without doubt! Thank you again.

Spectacular and Spacious

By Chris W on 05-Jun-2016

This wonderful holiday home is much larger than you expect and is immaculately presented throughout. The owner gave us an amazing amount of information, specifically suited to our families age range. The close proximity of so many lovely beaches made it a real hit with our young grandchildren who really didn't want to go home.(neither did the grown-ups!) The hot tub is positioned in a superb spot so you can overlook the sea whilst relaxing. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone, but particularly extended families as the layout is just perfect.

A real find

By Robert C on 19-May-2016

Belvedere was perfect for our family celebration. The house is very well designed and finished to an exceptionally high standard. It also has stunning sea views which are best enjoyed from the amazing hot-tub! While the house is tucked away, it’s just outside the charming village of Mortehoe and very close to one of the best beaches in the UK! You can also access the SW costal postal path from the bottom of garden which takes you down to some lovely secluded rocky beaches. The owner of the property is incredibly helpful and really went out of her way to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible which we really appreciated. A real find and we hope to be back again soon! Thank you.

Wonderful for a family Christmas

By Christiane N on 01-Jan-2016

Belvedere is set in a fabulous location offering comfort and a great place for entertaining a large family group. The house is spacious with all amenities needed. The little touches provided (Christmas tree, welcome hamper, tasteful decorations) made the Christmas away from home special. A great time had by all!

Luxury overlooking the sea

By Melanie R on 05-Nov-2015

I've stayed in a lot of sea view houses where you have to stand on the loo and peer around the house in front to see the sea. Belvedere is truly overlooking the sea and the beautiful Devon coastline. The back of the house is like a film set, you go out of the pretty cottage garden gate and are on the South West Coast path to rocky beaches, the lighthouse and stunning countryside. We spent hours with the kids climbing around the rocks and poking in rock pools. It's in a tiny village with three pubs, always a good sign, and you can walk in to sandy beaches at Woolacombe in 20minutes or drive there in 5. The house itself is obviously a home and they've included everything you could think of. Best bit for me was sitting in the hot tub after a really good walk watching the sea down below. Stunning house.

Immaculate property- most stunning views in Devon.

By Kim on 02-Sep-2015

As soon as we walked into the property the views from the kitchen and dining area took our breath away and instantly we were lifted away from the stresses and strains of everyday life. The property is immaculate, contemporary and finished to a luxuriously high standard. The layout is very practical, equally suited to families or groups, and has everything needed for a self-catering holiday. There is plenty to do in the area, whatever the weather - memorable days were spent bodyboarding with the children at Woolacombe beach, going for long walks, pub lunches and sitting on the beach. Excellent customer service, nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Excellent house and location

By Anonymous on 30-Aug-2015

A beautiful house set in a fantastic location. 10 of us enjoyed a great week at Belvedere. Superb views of the sea and set in a delightful village where we visited the weekly craft fare.We enjoyed the Sri Lanka curry night on Barricane beach, body boarding at Woolacombe and our favourite is Tea on The Green at Westward Ho who serve the biggest scones in Devon. The welcome basket was unexpected and brimming with wonderful goodies. A fab house and location and great communication from owner. Thank you

Perfect

By Kate G on 27-Aug-2015

A really wonderful house for a family holiday. We were a group of 9 people and felt that the house was finished to a very high standard and spotlessly clean. The view is absolutely amazing and will tempt you outside to evenings around the BBQ and Jacuzzi. I would recommend the coastal walk to Lee Bay followed by a pub lunch at “The Grampus”. Woolacombe beach is perfect for surfing and I felt the children age 10-14 were all very safe. If you are interested in art then a trip to Ilfracombe to see the Damien Hirst statue “Verity” is worth a visit. We normally eat out a lot on holidays but this house was so lovely, we were happy to stay in and enjoy our time there. The owner is very informative and easy to get hold of.

Excellent

By Ryan Booth on 06-Jul-2015

The property was finished to a vey high standard, well maintained and very clean. The owners have thought very hard about what peoples needs are whilst on holiday and the property caters very well. The property is a very good size, our group consisted of 9 people and it still felt very spacious. The location is very picturesque over looking the ocean with a rural coastal path behind for long walks to remote beaches. The property is located in a little village with 3 pubs for evening dining and drinking and is within close distance to woolacombe and croyde which are accessible by a short taxi drive. We BBQ'd one night and dined out the other two nights. The manager was in touch with us when we arrived to see if we had any problems which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend this property and would return to stay to holiday in Devon.

Magnificent!

By Emma T on 22-Jun-2015

Wow!! What more can I say?! This wonderful home was just delightful. The photos really didn't do it justice! Four generations arrived to find that this holiday home was just perfect for what we required for our stay. Every detail had been thought of and after great correspondence with the owner we arrived to find a wonderful hamper of essentials and treats that kept us going until our shopping arrived from Sainsburys! The house was beautifully decorated, comfy, luxurious, pristine and was stocked with everything needed for a family stay. The view was glorious and the town and surrounding area were lovely. I couldn't rate this house and its owner, Andrea any more highly.

Perfect!

By Maria G on 08-Jun-2015

We had a great stay at Belevedere. It really lived up to the photos and more. We were really impressed with how kitted out the house was especially in the kitchen, including food in the cupboards for our use. Although we did a big Tesco shop for the weekend. We didn't actually eat out much but there are some cosy pubs in Mortehoe and a short 5 minute drive to Woolacombe for surfing, shopping and eating. We had a lovely time exploring the coastal walks that were right out of the back garden and relaxing on the big patio with the BBQ. I couldn't recommend this place more, the owners are really invested in making your stay as relaxing and welcoming as possible and sharing their local knowledge. Definitely would go back in a flash!

Incredible!

By Anonymous on 13-Apr-2015

Belvedere is a stunning house that has everything you could want and more. Ideally located for coastal walks, amazing beaches, pubs and food. The location and house caters for everyone of all ages, and after a long day of fresh air, walks and beaches it has the added luxury of the hot tub to relax you. Hardly used the car (apart from walks and towns further afield, shopping and even a bit of clay pigeon shooting). Could not recommend this place highly enough. I could continue, so it just needs to be said that it would be a shame to miss out on this place. Stunning - Thank you.

Perfect Spot!

By Anonymous on 24-Mar-2015

We arrived at this stunning property and left the car behind for the whole weekend as there were amazing coastal walks from the back garden! You can walk to Woolacombe with its beautiful beaches and with three pubs in the village no transport is needed. The house has been recently refurbished to a very high standard. It was the perfect spot for a very relaxing weekend. At night we could cosy up by the roaring wood burner or relax in the hot tub star gazing! I would definitely return to this beautiful property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Adventure Seekers, Age 55+, Families with Teenagers.

Stunning holiday retreat

By Lyndsey on 12-Mar-2015

Belvedere is a stunning holiday retreat. As soon as you enter the spacious entrance hall you are greeted with panoramic views of the coastline and sea beyond, breathtaking! The interior is beautifully decorated using the coast as inspiration, the soft greys and collections of driftwood, create a relaxing and soothing space. (Even in November the house was warm and cosy with underfloor heating and the wood burner.) The window seat, with sheepskin rugs, over looking the sea, is a wonderful place to sit and contemplate, with coffee in hand or a good book. Every bedroom is peaceful and comfortable, so there were no arguments over sleeping arrangements! The house has everything you need for a fantastic break, even a jacuzzi in a secluded area of the garden, again overlooking the sea view. Mortehoe is a picturesque village with lovely local pubs. Easy access to gorgeous, natural beaches or the large beach at Woolacombe makes for a multi activity holiday, walking along the coastal path, surfing or just relaxing, it is all there for all ages. The owners are very friendly and have an excellent knowledge of the area, sharing some less well known places, 'of the beaten track' away from the main tourist areas. A 'must go to' holiday destination.Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Girls Getaway, Adventure Seekers, Age 55+.

A little piece of paradise

By PocketRocket on 11-Mar-2015

I had the pleasure of staying at Belvedere for a week over February half term 2015 with my three children. Belvedere, meaning 'beautiful view' is well named. Perched on a cliff top, surrounded by National Trust land and overlooking beaches and the sea, it really is a little piece of paradise. Currently Morthoe's best kept secret, I would say. Whether you enjoy water sports, coastal walks, horse riding, golf or are simply seeking a quiet coastal or rural retreat to admire the view and disappear into a good book, Belvedere ticks all the boxes. The house is beautifully designed and spacious; offers luxurious accommodation and has a fabulous terrace, garden and hot tub - perfect for families with children of all ages. Only a few short steps to many coastal walks and quiet beaches, and a quick jog to the award Woolacombe beach, it is perfectly situated for a variety of outdoor activities. My children and I had a wonderful holiday, with many sun filled days but even the odd shower didn't dampen our spirits - we simply pulled on our waterproofs and went on a long coastal walk, which ended up being the highlight of our week - returning to a hot tub and burning log fire made it all worth it! We can all highly recommend Belvedere, and can't wait to return. Recommended for: Families with Young Children, Sightseeing, Adventure Seekers, Families with Teenagers.
