Thimble Cottage in Youlgreave, Near Bakewell, Derbyshire, Peak District - Conveniently Located the Heart of One of the Prettiest Villages of the Peak District
Thimble Cottage is warm, well equipped and has a wood-burner in the sitting room for cozy evenings in and comfortable double bed adorned with fine linen.

We welcome well behaved pets; the rear courtyard garden is totally enclosed and there are many fabulous walks from the doorstep.

A new kitchen and bathroom were sympathetically installed in 2018 to include shower over the bath and granite topped kitchen.

The cottage is conveniently located in the heart of one of the prettiest villages of the Peak District and within walking distance of the 3 village pubs, general stores and the cake shop Peak Feast is just around the corner which also sells delicious take away coffees, teas and hot chocolate.

Perfect Long Weekend Break

By Richard W on 24-Sep-2019

The other reviews say it all - perfect cottage for two and ideal base for exploring the Peak District. Super location if you have a dog and our 'Charlie' enjoyed all the walks down by the river - plus you get to choose any one of three pubs to end your walk! And that's just staying local - we also did Chatsworth House (a must, super day out), Bakewell, Matlock and the Monsal Trail. Overall a fab few days, we were lucky with gorgeous September sunshine and I thoroughly recommend this cottage.

A cozy cottage, an ideal base for exploring the Peak District.

By Keith C on 27-Mar-2019

A nice walk in the county, good food in one of the 3 excellent village pubs, and a bottle of wine snuggled up on the sofa of this lovely cozy cottage. The bed is so comfortable for a good nights rest after a full day. A lovely cottage in a lovely village.

Fabulous

By Richard A on 25-Feb-2019

Just what we were looking for - this cosy cottage is in a lovely village set in a beautiful part of the country, with country walks from the front door, pubs and village stores for supplies and good food. Nice walk into Bakewell which is also a lovely little town.

Cottage was great - had everything you need for a couple of days downtime. Has been nicely updated. Exceptionally comfortable bed.

The perfect little cottage in the perfect location.

By James M on 04-Jan-2019

This was our second visit to Thimble Cottage as both my wife and I really enjoyed our stay last time.

The cottage itself is small but absolutely perfect for two people and has everything you could wish for, and sitting by a log fire with a glass of wine of an evening after a long walk is the best way to round off your day.

My only complaint is that the bed is so comfortable that it is almost impossible to get out of it in the mornings!

Perfect cottage for a short break!

By Jane T on 18-Nov-2018

Thimble Cottage is situated in a lovely friendly village with a couple of good local shops and three pubs. Lovely walks close by. The cottage itself is small and quaint and very cosy. The woodburner was a real treat on the cooler evenings. The bed was really comfy with crisp clean bedding and plenty of drawer and wardrobe space. The bathroom facilities were good, lovely touches of ample shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The kitchen provided all the mod cons you would need to self cater even though we chose to eat out.. The garden yard was very small but I am sure would be quite pleasant to sit out in on a warm evening. I would definitely recommend staying at Thimble Cottage for the quaintness, the village and good to have parking close by.

Lovely little cottage, warm and inviting, comfortable furnishing and well equipped kitchen. nice little sitting out area that has the sun late afternoon.

Love the area walks straight from the door, 3 pubs all within a short distance, food at the George good and huge portions.

Return Visit to Thimble Cottage

By Sam Louise on 18-May-2016

We have just returned home from our stay in Thimble Cottage (our second stay in this one, and once in Tweedledee) for a long weekend. Definitely home from home with plenty of extra luxuries.....The bed for one being the most comfortable thing ever, ideal after exploring for miles and miles. Great location in a very friendly village. Can't wait to book again!! Thank you Rachel
