A Little Bit About Kyrenia

Geographically Kyrenia is stunning. Kyrenia town and the surrounding villages sit on a strip of land between the Mediterranean sea and the Besparmak mountains. The strip is only between one and three kilometres deep and the mountain view's are there for everyone.Northern Cyprus has amazing long natural sandy beaches where the Turtles come to lay there egg's from May until July.
The Food, bar's and restaurants are absolutely fabulous, with very reasonable prices. Kyrenia is NOT in the Euro zone and value for money is second to none.
The atmosphere is relaxed, authentic and most of all extremely safe.
If Walking is your thing then the mountain village's are well worth several visits. Bellapais monastery village with its beautiful Abby where concerts are held in the evening is a site to remember.
Karmaman village is stunningl with it's very old white cottages with colourful shutters all purched on the mountain side. Walk around the little narrow lanes or from here take off onto one of the old donkey tracks up through the pine Forrest to the wonderful St Hilarion castle on the mountain top.
Take a walk up to Buffavento castle, the highest of the three ancient castles for spectacular views or drive through the ancient pine forest up to Kantara castle where the view of the pan handle and both coasts at the same time come into view.
Kyrenia old horse shoe shaped harbor is a place to wonder around on a hot day looking at the wooden boats then sit for a glass of wine and a fresh fish lunch just watching the people strolling by.
The Korenium international golf club is about 15 minutes drive from Kyrenia town, it's a great place for lunch even if you don't play golf. A great golf experience and a super cooling body massage when you have finished playing.
