WOODPECKER- Aberdovey Hillside Village is located in Aberdovey (Aberdyfi in Welsh) at the southern tip of the Snowdonia National Park on the West Wales coast, enjoying a southerly outlook over the Dovey estuary and Cardigan Bay; it is in Mid Wales, yet in Gwynedd which is in North Wales. Aberdovey is a great central location from which to explore the delights of the Cardigan Bay coast and the mountains of Snowdonia by road or rail, as well as the rural beauty of Mid Wales.

WOODPECKER is LESS THAN 100 METRES FROM THE WATER'S EDGE, in the grounds of Aberdovey Hillside Village, which is idyllically located at the heart of the picturesque seaside village of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi), in the Snowdonia National Park. Porpoise offers spacious and comfortable accommodation, with AMAZING, ever-changing, CLEAR SEA VIEWS, a short walk from all the many attractions that Aberdovey has to offer, including its miles of sandy beaches.

WOODPECKER is part of Hillside Village, a complex of holiday cottages, houses, and apartments, with a variety of indoor and outdoor facilities, set in its own private grounds. WOODPECKER is the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the many wonderful things Aberdovey and the local area have to offer. Its spacious, comfortable design and breath-taking views make it perfect for couples, babies and toddlers, small groups of friends or family, looking to stay together in one property. WOODPECKER sleeps 4 across 2 bedrooms with large a south facing terrace off the Lounge and Bedroom 1.

WOODPECKER as with several of our properties has a second bedroom with two single divan beds that abut as standard, can be separated - (also can be made into super king bed with super king topper, sheets and duvet - an extra charge when booking). This is a great option for two couples sharing and those that want a bigger bed!

WOODPECKER is frequently booked with G3 CURLEW directly above which also sleeps 4, in two bedrooms so can sleep 8 in total. They share an external door access at the half landing level of a staircase Woodpecker's front door is down from there, Curlew up from there. It is also used as part of a multi-property booking with other properties at Hillside Village.

WOODPECKER is dog friendly, up to 2 dogs may stay with their owners, check out our DOGS page on our website. Curlew and Woodpecker share an enclosed gated landscaped courtyard, adjacent to their shared front door.

WOODPECKER enjoys amazing, ever-changing, south facing sea views of the Dyfi (Dovey) estuary, hills, mountains, Cardigan Bay and beyond. Check out our two WEBCAMS on our website, they are set up to pan from East through South to the West and back again 24/7.

LIVING ACCOMMODATION
WOODPECKER's living area is spacious and open plan, the lounge is at its southern end and provides access to its south facing terrace through patio windows. As can be seen from the photographs the sea views are spectacular. It has a coffee table two leather sofas and other side tables. There is a 43" Smart TV with Freeview with a DVD player. Hillside Village has a library of DVDs as well as books for guests to borrow. Infra red bar and panel heaters on ceiling. The Dining area has views South through the lounge over the estuary and sea beyond. the dining table can comfortably seat six, which assists in bringing together to eat those staying in Curlew if it is taken with Woodpecker. Woodpecker's large terrace is great for alfresco dining. The kitchen is situated adjacent to the dining area. It has the following appliances Dishwasher, Fridge freezer, Electric fan oven and hob. There is plenty of storage space and kitchen equipment with matching utensils for 6.

SLEEPING ACCOMMODATION
WOODPECKER has two bedrooms sleeping 4 as follows:
Bedroom 1 - A spacious double with chest of drawers, bedside tables, and a wardrobe. Sea Views over estuary and beyond. Notice the infrared panel heater on ceiling above the bed,
Bedroom 2 - Two single divan beds abutting as standard can be separated - (also can be made into super king bed with super king topper, sheets and duvet - an extra charge when booking), with chest of drawers, bedside tables, wardrobe.

SHOWER ROOM and separate WC
WOODPECKER has a Family shower room with a large walk shower and a separate WC and wash hand basin. Those parents that are looking for a bath to to bathe their infants and/or toddlers, we have portable folding bath tubs available on request subject to availability- see illustration that can be used in shower in photo gallery above.

ACCESS AND PARKING
WOODPECKER’S parking is in the Guest Parking area, one parking space is allocated to Woodpecker, additional parking spaces subject to availability. The property is split level. The access to Woodpecker is via a short path to the front door, there is then a internal flight of six steps to the front door of the apartment less than15 metres from a drop off point.

Generally in respect of all our properties the lounges are comfortably furnished with sofas and armchairs, coffee tables and TV with free-to-air digital. Beds are made up prior to arrival, with pillows, duvets and all bed linen (no bath or hand towels are provided). Whether properties have more than one bath / shower room and its content is specified for each property on their page. All kitchens are equipped with electric or gas hobs & ovens, microwave ovens, toasters, automatic kettles, refrigerator, most have separate freezers and a comprehensive range of cooking utensils. All utility costs are inclusive. Coin operated washing machines and dryers are in the guest launderette off the Terrace Lounge.

WI-FI AND SMART TVs
We know that being able to connect to the outside world is part of life today and particularly important for families to have a Wi-Fi network they can connect to for their children. We are pleased to say that with a combination of our Superfast Broadband transmitted through numerous access points and our Three and EE hubs connected to a 5G transmitter in line of sight across the estuary we have this covered. All our properties have Smart TVs. All mobile networks provide good 4G or 5G indoor and outdoor service to us.

​We have several properties that are accessible for those with restricted mobility, and can provide shower or bath seats and raised toilet seats. For young families cots and high chairs are available. It is a wonderful place for just relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet, and the ever-changing views.
