Description
Our self-catering holiday apartment is situated above the Rockshop, our family run business, in the centre of Ambleside and only a short stroll from the shores of Lake Windermere. It is next to Stockgyhll Beck, the mountain stream which flows through the village.An abundance of walks can be taken straight from the door and there are a variety of shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs and a cinema/jazz bar right on the doorstep.
Furnished to a very high standard, the accommodation sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms, a double (king size bed) and a twin. There is a utility room with a washer, dryer, 2nd fridge and bike storage hooks.
The living area has a TV with Sky TV and a DVD player. The roof terrace is accessed from here.
The well-equipped kitchen includes a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, double oven, hob, microwave and a Nespresso coffee machine with coffee pods provided.
All towels and bedlinen are included. The property is managed by our Rockshop staff who are on hand (during opening hours) should you require any help during your stay.

Beautiful Ambleside apartment
By Jackie S on 14-May-2021Stayed for a weekend at this lovely apartment Very spacious, extremely comfortable,Furnished and equipped to a very high standard with the added bonus of the outside terrace overlooking the river Stock Gyhill , perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine and watching the world go by. Ideal location in the centre of beautiful Ambleside, lots of walks and hikes nearby for all abilities, easy access to shops and the many restaurants and bars . Highly recommended
Our Favourite Place to Stay
By JANE & DAVE on 11-Oct-2019This was our sixth 'October' stay at the Rock Shop flat and once again we had a wonderful time. We have already booked to return again in October 2020. The apartment is just perfect. It is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean, well equipped and very cosy. It is ideally situated, with plenty of shop, pubs and lovely restaurants close by. There are also beautiful walks direct from the doorstep and just a short walk to Waterhead Pier, where you can catch steamers to Bowness. The new balcony is also an added bonus, with splendid views. Joanne always leaves welcoming goodies, which is so thoughtful.
Perfect Lakes Apartment
By Jean on 12-Aug-2019We love the Rock Shop flat for its proximity to the park, endless choice of walks from the door, shops, restaurants and cinema so that whatever the weather there is a huge choice of things to do. We've had several holidays in this beautiful, very well equipped apartment and each time have found something new to delight us. This year we discovered the newly built amazing glass balcony and spacious utility room with storage for bikes which is also a very useful drying area and boot room. Sitting outside for breakfast on the balcony or reading in the sun with the sound of the beck in the background was wonderful. We also enjoyed a complimentary swim and use of the outdoor hot tub at the next door hotel - another new addition to the treats in store at the Rock Shop flat ..... oh and newly installed SKY Q too. What more could anyone want?

By Chris on 05-Jul-2019The apartment is really home from home with modern facilities, which are beautifully furnished right in the centre of Ambleside. It now has an amazing outdoor balcony with great views so you can eat and drink al fresco as well. Highly recommended.

By Ann George montgomery on 17-Jun-2019We have stayed at seven flats & houses in Ambleside in the past But this is by far the BEST in Ambleside the lovely ,flat has everything You need, From a fab position overlooking the stream from the beautiful glass roof terrace to the the amazing sitting room and open plan kitchen , Which has everything you could ever need , There is a great laundry room with washer&dryer and a place for wet clothes to be hung.There is also sky TV And a big thanks to Joann the owner for the lovely bottle of wine ,fruit and Biscuits and some essential to get you started .we have already booked for next year . Thanks again Joann for a fab stay at your flat
