Description

The stable has been completely renovated and is now the only part of the house which is rented. With over 100 sq metres of floor space this open-plan ground floor studio apartment provides ample space and is uniquely for 2 adults. The apartment is centrally heated, (if required), in late spring or early autumn.

The courtyard and gardens are always peaceful and the pool is fully enclosed with plenty of space for relaxation. The pool is not heated but has a bubble cover at night. This keeps the water temperature at around 25-30c during the summer. Generally the pool is all yours unless I want a dip with family or friends.

Inside there is a fully equipped kitchen, very large and comfortable double bed, 2 sofas, WiFi and satellite tv. There is a large shower room and separate wc. All bed linen and towels are provided. There is off-road parking directly opposite.

The four departments that make up Poitou-Charentes - namely Charente, Charente-Maritime, Deux-Sèvres and the Vienne- each has a character of its own. They are all extremely popular tourist destinations.

The town of Cognac is only 10 minutes away. There are plenty of shops and restaurants to suit all tastes and pockets. The Cognac warehouses are always worth a visit.
The nearest beaches are 45 mins- 1 hour away. Some are small, quiet and safe or there is the Cote Sauvage with 13 Km of sand and Atlantic rollers. The towns of Saintes, Royan and La Rochelle are all within easy driving distance and should be visited. For wine lovers, Bordeaux and St Emilion make a good day out.

The property is available from the beginning of April until the end of October every year.
The price is £550/€650 per week, Saturday-Saturday. The rental period begins at 16h on the day of arrival and finishes at 10h on the last day. Out of season, minimum rental periods of 3 nights can be considered at £90/€100 per night. All bookings are handled by the owner.

Dogs are welcome. I can make the garden and courtyard pooch proof. Owners must clean up after their pooches. There is a £25pw Fido fee.

Comfortable holiday home with great host.

Simon made us very welcome and went to the trouble to enclose the garden so the dogs could go out safely. The studio is very spacious , well equiped and the bed comfortable . We really enjoyed our stay particularly our 'apero' evenings with Simon, who we now count as a friend. Cognac which is a really lovely place is only a short drive away, with many interesting places to visit nearby,try Saintes.
