Description
Aldergrove Cottage offers a cosy retreat just a short walk from the centre of Ashbourne, the gateway to the Peak District, where independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs are just some of the many attractions of this lovely market town. The cottage is able to accommodate up to five people in two double rooms, with the option of an extra single bed if necessary. It comprises of a fully equipped spacious kitchen diner with the addition of a log burner, a modern bathroom and a homely and comfortable living room.
The rear of the cottage overlooks fields with the garden having two separate patio areas to enjoy the peaceful views. There is also a lockable store room should you have larger items, such a bicycles or push chairs, to keep safe during your stay.
Aldergrove Cottage has the beautiful Peak District National Park right on its doorstep which is a well-trodden route for walkers to explore this stunning area. The Tissington Trail is a traffic free trail which allows for exploring the area by foot or by bicycle. It begins in Ashbourne and runs through amazing scenery and is a five-minute walk away from the cottage. There are many attractions just a short drive away such as Dovedale with its famous Stepping Stones, Ilam Park, Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, the Heights of Abrahams and many more.
As the owners we are regular visitors to Ashbourne and we stay in Aldergrove Cottage whenever it is empty. We always enjoy exploring the many walks and cycle rides in the area at different times of the year, taking the opportunity to drive out to visit a range of nearby places, such as National Trust properties and the High Peaks, whenever we are able to. We would love to be able to give the opportunity to experience Ashbourne and the Peak District and surrounding areas by having you stay at our lovely holiday home.
