Description
The Garden House is the ultimate romantic retreat providing seclusion and privacy for two adults plus one baby.The house sits in a pretty south facing garden and is fully enclosed by brick walls and high fencing making it the perfect retreat for guests with even the most reactive dogs. We love welcoming visitors with dogs to our special part of Norfolk where there is so much to see and do from long walks on the beach to exploring the many National Trust estates and houses nearby.
We are obsessively dog friendly and provide our guests with throws for the sofas so that you can cuddle up with your four legged friend in the evening. We also provide lots of extra equipment to make your life easier such as bowls, treats, toys, beds, crates, dog tags, poo bags etc.

The house is all on one level and provides easy access for guests with mobility issues. Features include luxurious accommodation with underfloor heating, a well equipped kitchen/living room and gorgeous ensuite wet room with two person rainfall shower.
The bedroom has a King size Hypnos bed, ample storage and direct access to the sunny terrace outside. The en suite shower room has a luxurious two person rainfall shower and complimentary Bramley toiletries including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash and hand cream.
The living room provides access to the garden via its 3m long sliding glazed door. The house is always bright and sunny because of the feature windows which let the light flood in. There is a large smart TV with Amazon Prime, Netflix and Disney + as well as the terrestrial channels and TV on demand.
The garden house welcomes two dogs and provides a secure, sunny garden perfect for everyone to relax and enjoy their holiday.
During the summer the south/west facing terrace provides the perfect place to enjoy the peace and quiet with a G&T or glass of fizz – there are sun loungers, Barlow Tyrie garden furniture and a Weber gas BBQ (gas provided free of charge).
The kitchen has everything needed to make your stay stress free and easy including fridge/freezer, NEFF cooker and hob, Nespresso machine and coffee pods, Nutribullet, Dishwasher, Washing Machine, Blender, Microwave and there’s even a Wonderboom so you can play your favourite music from your phone.
The house has an open and airy feel with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. The glazed wall which looks onto the garden provides a beautiful backdrop for romantic meals for two or simply relaxing on the sofa in front of the television.
It is the perfect base to explore North Norfolk – close to boutique shops, National Trust properties, fabulous restaurants and pubs – it’s even a 2 minute stroll to our award winning village pub! We're in the best position in Norfolk - close to beaches, The Broads and Norwich as well as all the activities on offer very close to home.
The ideal place to celebrate a significant event, relax and unwind or spoil someone special.

One of the best cottages we've stayed in
By Louise on 16-Sep-2025Lovely cottage, very quiet, tasteful and comfortable, the owners have thought of everything. Very good to have a totally secure garden with a lockable gate to keep our dog safe.
What a find
By Andrew on 15-Jul-2025when looking for a stay away, we always look for a quality place to stay, it can make such a difference to the break. When we came across The Garden Room it cried out quality, fortunately for us the exact dates we were looking for were available in a packed booking calendar. Communication is key, and from the start there was plenty of info available and direct contact from Serena (owner). She was very helpful and patient with my questions etc. The property was easy to find thanks to carefully put together instructions, to our delight The Garden Room was as described, clean, comfy and very well equipped, so, so peaceful . Ideally positioned to head in any direction to visit places of interest. Serena was receptive to our feedback as we try and look at the places we stay in as " if it was ours". We felt secure and relaxed after our stay. The Garden Room will join our list of places titled "revisit".
Excellent stay in The Garden House

We had a superb time the weather was lovely therefore we were able to make use of the enclosed garden (an absolute bonus). The welcome basket was incredible and so appreciated by all. Best run holiday house ever
By Christine on 06-Apr-2025A peaceful, private and comfortable house in a lovely edge-of-village location. I stayed here with my dog and we were both instantly comfortable, and happy to come ‘home’ at the end of each day. It was well-equipped, spotlessly clean and had a special, luxurious feel with a great coffee machine. Well located for us with three good dog exercise fields minutes away at Tuttington, Erpingham, and just down the road in Banningham! Serena was very welcoming and helpful. Would love to stay again and thoroughly recommend.
Immaculate comfort
By Stephen on 05-Feb-2025We spent a very relaxing week in the Garden house, an immaculate and very comfortable well equipped holiday home. The owner Serena was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome and at home as soon as we arrived. The excellent welcome pack was a lovely gesture and very enjoyable. The property sits within its own very private garden which is brought inside due to the large glass frontage. Our visit was in January, we awoke to white frosty mornings with crystal clear blue skies, a pretty picture outside and warm and cosy indoors. A two minute stroll from the house is the Crown pub serving good food. Aylsham is a pretty town a short drive away where you will find independent shops, supermarkets and very good eateries, we recommend The Black Boys pub in the square also Bread Source for good coffee and snacks. A visit to Biddies Tea Room is a must ! The NT Blickling estate just beyond Aylsham is definitely worth a visit. The Garden House is in a perfect location to explore the many delights of Norfolk, the coast, the broads, beautiful countryside and the city of Norwich.
