Description
* Villa Romantique is an award-winning, spacious and stunning old stone-built property built around an old tower with beams and windows certainly dating from 1820 - with 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, large kitchen, laundry room, stone entrance hall/sitting room, dining room and old bar, round lounge, large outside dining terrace, roof terrace with panoramic views for 40 miles, a spacious entirely-walled garden and a magnificent pool area giving you a sun terrace, a shaded pool-side summer lounge, shaded pool-side summer kitchen and traditional BBQ, and an ornamental pond garden with a little bridge.Villa Romantique is peacefully located on a hilltop in Provence – accommodating any number up to* 12 people.
*PLEASE NOTE* that we have a sliding scale of weekly rental prices for the villa, so that to be fair, parties smaller than 12 people pay less per week - although no part of the villa nor any of the bedrooms will be closed off. You will have the full run of the property. Deduct £100 from the indicated weekly rental price for every person fewer in your party than 12. For instance, for a party of (say) 9 people (i.e. 3 fewer than 12) you will deduct £300 (3 x £100) from the weekly total. For a party of (say) 6 people (i.e. 6 fewer than 12) you deduct £600 ( 6 x £100) from the weekly total.
The optional extra 'La Petite Villa Romantique' accommodates 2 - 4 people if desired or required - this 1-bedroomed cottage in the corner of the garden has it's own private terrace and 'petite' garden and parking .
Note: We never rent it separately , so if you don't want or need to rent 'La Petite Villa Romantique' then it will remain unoccupied during your stay. To see photos and a full description and a weekly price for 'La Petite Villa Romantique' go to our own website)
* A unique and stunning Romanesque-style pool area with sun terrace, shaded summer lounge with drinks fridge, an equipped, fitted summer kitchen with another fridge, and a traditional stone-built BBQ area.
* Private, secure parking for 6 cars within the grounds.
* The property is painted white throughout and furnished in a charming, colourful and authentic antique Provençal style, and with modern amenities.
* The entire property and garden is surrounded by a continuous high wall and the entrance has large electronically-controlled double gates giving privacy, security and that true feeling of exclusivity. The property is private but not isolated. It does not overlook any other properties, nor is it overlooked by any other properties. It is situated at the top of a lane which winds up through the trees.
* The large garden has an ornamental pond and bridge., countless shrubs, bushes and trees including ancient cypress and olive trees. There are various shaded and sunny sitting areas and a graveled area where you can play the traditional and ever-popular French game of petanque (boules provided)
* Villa Romantique is less than 1 kilometre from a very large supermarket selling every requirement, and a specialist boulangerie/patisserie and a master boucherie/charcuterie.
* It is just 1.5 kilometres from the historic medieval and picturesque town of Beaucaire with its 11th century chateau, ancient buildings and streets and its markets, restaurants, cafes and bars and every amenity, situated alongside the charming marina on the lovely Rhone-Sete canal.
Beaucaire's 'twin', the equally fascinating old town of Tarascon with its magnificent King Rene's 15th century chateau is just across the bridge on the opposite bank of the river Rhone.
* Beaucaire is perfectly located in the 'golden circle' created by Avignon, the Luberon, Saint Remy de Provence, Arles, the Camargue, Nimes, Uzes and the Pont du Gard.
* There are no fewer than 5 UNESCO World Heritage Sites within a 35 minute drive of Villa Romantique
* Nearest airports: Montpellier, Marseille and Nimes. Nearest TGV railway station is at Avignon
* £1950 – £6050 per week. depending upon the number of people in your party, and the time of year.
Plus (if required or desired) the optional extra 1-bedroom cottage in the garden, depending upon the time of year, is £450 – £850 per week, accommodating 2 to 4 people.( There is a folding baby-cot and a high-chair if required)
NOTE: this cottage is never let separately, so if you do not wish to rent it, rest assured that it will remain unoccupied during your stay.
