Fabulous!!
By T Campbell on 13-Jun-2022Fabulous!! Moreton house is a master class on how to renovate a mansion house to modern living. We stayed in the Buck suite, I would give ten stars for style and comfort. I loved to walk in the grounds, learned how to play croquet and read by book on the hidden bench seat. A very big thank you to Helen and Harvey for making our stay truly memorable
Moreton House
By Olivia Ingham on 29-May-2021My husband and I and our two young daughters stayed at Moreton House for a week over half term. We had the most wonderful week here. The apartment we stayed in was first class - beautifully decorated and furnished and extremely comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped; so much thought had gone into the apartment to ensure our every need was met and to ensure we had the best possible accommodation experience. Outside of the apartment and in the building or its grounds, my children were very well entertained on swings, a mud kitchen, large lawns to run on, a great area for scooters/cycling, very large paddling pool, croquet, very large indoor trampoline, soft play area.... Heaven for children and a rest for parents! The owners, Harvey and Helen, were such kind and thoughtful people who go out of their way to ensure you are happy. The surrounding areas are full of activities and lovely things to do - coastal walks, beautiful sandy and pebbly beaches, National Trust places of interest (Hartland Abbey), fun children's activities (The Big Sheep is wonderful!) and fun restaurants and pubs. We loved exploring different places each day. North Devon is beautiful. Highly recommend.
If Georgian/ Victorian elegance is your thing do stay here!
By Diana S on 09-Aug-2019This stunning apartment is one of several in the Victorian wing of a beautiful Georgian/Victorian mansion being lovingly restored by Helen and Harvey Phillips. The property stands in five acres of grounds, mostly laid to lawn but with some beautiful trees and plenty of interesting places for children to play and explore. Helen and Harvey's enthusiasm for their project is infectious and their friendly, warm approach makes for a most enjoyable stay. Everything you need is here - the kitchen is incredibly well equipped, the rooms, large and airy and the beds very comfortable. The modern decor stays true to the property's Victorian origins with alterations imaginatively done to create the perfect place for a peaceful getaway.
Casual luxury
By AW on 10-Mar-2019Stayed here for New Year. Marvellous setting. Apartments finished to a very high standard. Our son loved the softplay and adventure gardens. Most comfortable bed ever. Highly recommended for a weekend away. The hosts were so attentive and keen to make our experience enjoyable. We’ll go again, just wish it was closer to Edinburgh.
