Description
Beach Buoys in Bigbury on Sea is a fabulous bungalow in a wonderful setting literally seconds away from the fantastic Bigbury Beach. Having been extended and refurbished to the highest standard, this is the perfect ‘getaway’ house for family holidays. With a large open lawned area to the front and a back garden with a large patio area, the property has plenty of space for all your surfboards or paddle boards! You won’t have far to carry them either. The property sleeps 6/7 in 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom having its own en-suite shower room. From the lounge diner, you can see the famous Burgh Island Hotel with the beach/water as the foreground depending upon the tide. Parking for 2/3 vehicles at the front exists and the owners have even installed an outside shower to wash the sand away. A stunning property which is ideal for the beach or for those that want to explore the South Devon coastal path.Park up on the driveway to Beach Buoys and you can see the beach and smell the sea. It’s that close!
Just to the left of the back door exists a shower to rid yourself of salt and sand prior to entering. A small hallway hides the boiler and a washing machine.
The open plan kitchen is next to the lounge/diner and is fitted out to a very high standard with all the necessary appliances including a coffee maker. Sitting in the centre is a beautiful hand crafted curved island with a wooden top, bespokely made for Beach Buoys, ideal for early morning coffees whilst contemplating the day ahead.
The lounge has two comfortable settees and a large flat screen TV. The dining room has a table which seats 8 and from here, you can see Burgh Island Hotel, made famous by Agatha Christie.
The master bedroom, off from the dining room, has a king bed with its own en-suite shower room with WC. Bedroom 3 has 2 twin beds, one with a truckle under, making this a perfect space for children. Along the hall is the family bathroom with a shower, bath and WC and basin. Bedroom 2 faces the back garden and has French doors leading out on to the patio. This room houses a double bed, cupboard and wall mounted television.
The property has a large terraced garden to the rear, laid to lawn with a patio area. The front garden is laid to lawn and is flat.

Perfect location for all members (young and old)!
By Maxwell on 05-Jul-2025Perfect location for all members (young and old) of our family to use the facilities of the beach and walks over Burgh Island. All walkable, but the steep 4 minute walk up Folly Hill from the beach could be challenging for those with sore knees/joints and might take a bit longer. However just pop up and down in your car. The hot outside shower at the bungalow was good to use to get rid of the salt and sand both on the grandchildren and dog. The view from the front of the bungalow was spectacular especially at sunset, and we could also see when the sea tractor was running and when the tide was in. We had a hot, sunny, wonderful, restful week and will return.

The view of the sea is absolutely stunning - we loved sitting by the window and just watching the waves and enjoying the view of Burgh Island. The location couldn’t be better, with the beach and cafe just a short walk away. Everything we needed was provided, making our stay easy and comfortable. A perfect getaway and the dogs loved it too - we’ll definitely be returning!

By Ruth on 30-Jun-2024Fantastic. 3 min walk to dog friendly beach. Is a bit far to anywhere to walk to eat other than Venus Cafe if you have your 87 year old mum with you but house is so gorgeous you could happily stay in and enjoy the view from the dining table.
