Magnificent Mennabroom
By MBCB42 on 01-Oct-2023Idyllic stay in the heart of Cornwall, Mennabroom is ideally situated to explore both coasts and many other fascinating places in between. Cornwall is a wonderful historic and beautiful county and Mennabroom is certainly a jewel in its crown providing both an excellent farmhouse B and B or a small number of well appointed, original self catering options. Attentive hosts, a wonderful location and comfortable accommodation highlight this tranquil establishment as one of the best in the county.
Perfect peaceful rural retreat with lovely hosts
By Chris M on 01-Oct-2024Perfect peaceful rural retreat with lovely hosts Coming past the sheep grazing on Bodmin moor you pass Colliford Lake, a lovely place for a stroll, and drop down to a more wooded area and Mennabroom Farm Cottages. The hosts directions are very clear and they will pop over to meet you after you arrive. We stayed in the Byre which is perfect for a couple. The furnishings are well chosen with a comfortable sofa and chairs for relaxing and recharging with lots of thoughtful touches. From the lounge you look straight across open fields and might get to watch the antics of the local sheep. It was all very clean and well maintained and you will find everything you need for your stay. If you want to relax and eat in there is a good sized fridge freezer, cooker and microwave. There is so much to enjoy. Allow some time to walk through the beautiful area of woodland belonging to the owners with a little stream. If you want to explore locally St. Neots village has a pub, a lovely church and a small spring fed holy well. Lanhydrock House is very near for a National Trust day out. Bodmin itself is also worth a visit with a couple of small museums, the more famous Bodmin gaol and depending on the timetable the railway station for the start of a steam train journey. The Eden Centre is accessible from here as is Truro. Padstow and Fowey are ideal for people watching but very busy in peak season. The Byre is a beautiful quiet space to retreat, unwind and enjoy being in the countryside. This was our second visit and I came this time to continue my recovery after an operation. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely loved our stay
By Tina J on 01-Oct-2024We loved our stay , we stayed in a cottage called the byre. It was very cosy and the bed was a large king size and so comfy, we where greeted with scones, cream and jam and we where welcomed by Deborah who is lovely and so friendly and informative, she showed us how to do the log burner. We had paid for breakfast and there was a lovely choice, from cereals, yogurt, porridge , cooked breakfast and more and we were certainly not disappointed. Deborah and Ian are lovely and we really enjoyed chatting to Deborah each Morning, we also got to meet there lovely dogs, Eddie and Betty. We most certainly will go back at some point
Perfect getaway to explore Cornwall
By Thomas G on 01-Aug-2024This was the second time we stayed in one of the cottages. We absolutely loved it. Deborah and Ian are excellent hosts and gave us a lot of tips what to visit and where to go. From there we explored Cornwall; at the end of the day, we returned "home". We couldn't stop and wonder of how beautiful it is there.
Beautiful stay in the countryside
By Jennifer on 01-Jun-2024We recently got married in Cornwall and a few of our guests stayed at Mennabroom. On top of our guests absolutely loving every aspect of the beautiful B&B and setting, both Deborah and Ian went above and beyond to help our guests when they needed it. A huge thank you to them for looking after everyone and really going out of their way to help. Our guests really enjoyed their stay here at the beautiful Mennaboom. We have had the pleasure of staying at Mennabroom previously -and would fully recommend a stay here.
