If you're looking for a comfortable, peaceful place to relax and unwind, Bluebell Cottage is perfect for you. It's a pet-free, self-contained two bedroom cottage within a converted traditional Cornish stone barn, dating back 300 years, all on ground floor level with its own parking space right outside.

As you enter through your own front door, you'll find a pretty blue sitting room off to the left with two comfy sofas, TV, Freeview and a DVD player. There's a table and chairs for four to sit around the table for breakfast before you head out to explore this beautiful area of Cornwall or just step outside to enjoy the stunning scenery on site. You'll be just off the A38, so it's easy to get here, but you'll be hidden away in the lush Glynn Valley surrounded by tranquillity and away from the hustle and bustle. You'll have exclusive guest access to 17 acres of woodland, meadow, a one and a half acre lake and almost half a mile of the beautiful River Fowey.

Bluebell Cottage has two bedrooms, both with high quality coordinating bedding. There's a cosy double with a double bed and hanging rail and a generous twin room with wardrobe and dressing table, so plenty of space to spread out if you're coming as a couple. There are hairdryers in both rooms. The kitchen is well-equipped with Portmeirion Blue Botanic china and plenty of cutlery and utensils for a self-catering stay. You'll find a washing-up starter pack, tea towel and oven gloves; although who wants to cook on holiday? Everything you'd expect to find in the kitchen is there - electric oven and hob, fridge with ice-box, microwave, toaster, kettle, cafetiere - and perhaps some things extra, including a welcome hamper. There's also Superfast BT broadband/wifi across the site.

Bluebell Cottage has a small shower room with an electric shower, WC and vanity unit and towels and bath mat are included. There's a great space just inside the front door for hanging coats - or sunhats and beach towels - and dumping bags and shoes. Just outside the door, you'll find your own picnic table, parasol and Weber BBQ and the south-facing spot is quite a sun-trap in summer so it's a great place for a sundowner.

Some guests find that they don't leave the site as there's plenty to do with walks around the lake, bird-spotting in the hide, choosing your favourite picnic spot and going off grid with a book and a bottle of wine, finding your inner-child on the rope swings, having a game of boules on the court or even fishing for salmon or trout in the river. There's also a fire pit in the grounds which is another perfect spot for watching the soaring buzzards and listening to the river.

If you are exploring further afield, you'll have the perfect base. Rivermead Cottages are about half-way between Bodmin and Liskeard. Bodmin Moor is 5 minutes away by car, and Looe, Charlestown, Fowey and Lostwithiel can be reached in less than 20 minutes. There's a host of attractions within easy reach such as the NT gardens at Lanhydrock, the Eden Project, Golitha Falls and Lantic Bay. You'll find a wealth of information leaflets and suggested walks in the Rod Room.

Wonderful stay

By Connor Hahn on 04-Sep-2017

We had superb week at Rivermead Farm. Starting with warm welcome by the hosts and welcome basket deluxe (I never saw so many delicious things as a welcome gift in a holiday cottage), the really spacious grounds with lots of things to do for the kids, the lovely interiour of the cottages, a more then well equipped kitchen and a BBQ outside, Rivermead Farm is located perfectly for trips to many sights, the sea, the moor and many places more. And then there were TC and Wellington! We travelled with two families including 4 kids age 5 to 12 and EVERYBODY was happy! But unfortunatly we had just one week... I hope we can come back some day. 5.0 / 5.0

Again another amazing stay. Wonderful hospitality and the great array of games came into their own during the one wet day! We will be back! Thank you

Fantastic cottage & surroundings

By Michael P on 07-Jul-2017

We stayed at Rivermead Farm (Bluebell Cottage) from the 20/06/2015 for two weeks, on arrival we were greated by the owners (Marjorie & Kevin) The cottage was well equiped with all the mod cons, a wonderful hamper was provided. It was an ideal base to visit a very beautiful part of Cornmall. The grounds were well kept, well laid out and very pretty, I would really recommend this location for a holiday as we didnt want to leave. A big thank you too Marjorie & Kevin.
