Villa Monette

A beautiful two bedroom apartment in a traditional chalet style building constructed by MGM to their usual high standard. A lift takes you from the main entrance, the secure ski locker room and your reserved space in the underground parking area directly to the apartment door on the first floor. The apartment is in a fantastic central location being just a two minute stroll into the heart of the stunning Savoyard village of Samoëns with all its shops, cafes and restaurants. Just as handy is the free ski bus service that stops immediately outside Villa Monette with just a one minute ride to the telecabine to whisk you up to the large beginner's area and access to the 265km's of the grand Massif. Our home from home has a south facing balcony with 180' view of the Giffre valley and surrounding mountains. The apartment has full Wi-Fi, Uk and French satellite TV and WiFi available throughout. There is a double bedroom with a full en-suite bathroom and WC, another with a pair of single beds and a separate shower room with WC. The main room has dining and sitting areas with a well appointed kitchen.

Skiing from mid December until mid April in the Grand Massif region is extremely popular. The ski bus which runs every 15 minutes is opposite the chalet and is a 2 minute drive to the Grand Massif Express gondola. There is a pub next door to the chalet and a ski hire shop the other side of this. During the rest of the year hiking and walking are very popular in the stunning mountains and along the Giffre river. The river is a 10 minute walk from the chalet and this flowss down to Morillon where there is the beautiful Lac Bleu and up to Six Fer à Cheval. A five minute drive from here takes you to the Cirque du Fer à Cheval. It is one of the most beautiful national parks in France with dramatic cliff scenery and is the start of many walks and refuge trails. White water rafting and parapente are on hand. There are two lakes in Samoëns called Lac aux Dames. One of these is reserved for fishing and the other for swimming. There is a beautiful botanical garden in the centre of the village on a steep hill with loads of plants, trees and waterfalls. The Church of Notre-Dame is a lovely light old church completed in 1555 right in the heart of the village. A large lime tree which symbolises Samoëns was planted in 1438 and stands in front of this. There is also a cinema across the road as well as a bike rental shop. There are many restaurants serving excellent cuisine. Mezzanine,Melting Spot and Le Serac are some of the best as well Bar De Savoie and L'Estanco which has vegetarian options.

The apartment sleeps four. The main room has dining and sitting areas with a well appointed kitchen which one enters via a small hallway.There are two bedrooms. The master one has a double bed and en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has twin beds. There is also a separate shower room with a toilet and wash hand basin.

Amenities in the apartment are dishwasher, TV, Wifi balcony and underground parking. There is also the Sherpa supermarket on the ground floor of Villa Monette which is always very well stocked with european and English foods. They also make home made take away pizzas to order.

There is an international airport at Geneva which is one hour drive away. There is also a railway station at Cluses which is a 20 minute drive from Samoëns.

A 30% deposit is required six weeks before your stay.
