Great cottage in Boscastle
By Claire Hickman on 31-Aug-2025Lovely cottage in the pretty village of Boscastle. Cosy and spacious. Useful to have 2 toilets. Well equipped kitchen and TVs in most of the rooms. Walking distance to coast and shops. Parking was an issue, unfortunately. We knew there wasn't a dedicated space but faced hostility from neighbours up the street when carefully trying to park. We were sure not to park where there were no parking signs but they made it clear that we weren't welcome to park anywhere on Old rd . Forrabury Hill led up to another steep hill where we could park and so this worked...except for our poor burning clutch! I think the owners could consider trying and secure/rent a dedicated space for their customers, even if it's a bit of a walk away. The house was great...maybe due an end of season deep clean and a few maintenance bits but it was basically fine and we really enjoyed our stay.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful and tranquil village
By Nemanja Cvetkovic on 03-Sep-2018We had a fantastic time at Tao Cottage - it was perfectly equipped for a family holiday with everything one needs at hand. It is in great condition and perfectly situated. Boscastle itself is a charming village, with friendly people and beautiful natural surroundings. Highly recommended!
Super Holiday Cottage
By Clara on 15-Aug-2013Tao Cottage in Boscastle is a super holiday cottage. It is well managed and well equiped, with a large sociable kitchen and gorgeous garden. Comfortable, spacious and roomy house is well situated (on a steep hill) in the middle of beautiful Boscastle harbour town, and there is a footpath to the cliff walks across the road, and the harbour (etc) down the hill. What more could we want! This was our second visit to Tao Cottage - and are planning more!
Fantastic!!
By KTB on 12-Sep-2013I have been to Boscastle many times growing up and my mum used to go when she was a child too but this was the first time I had stayed in the village. We stayed at Tao for 3 nights and didn't want to come home! Kay has made the cottage feel like a home from home and you'll feel relaxed as soon as you walk in through the door. Its very clean and tidy through out and all the pictures & ornaments just give it that finishing touch. The beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is great and well equiped and it was lovely with the sun coming through in the morning and the view is amazing. We didnt meet Colin the badger who lives in the garden but will certainly look out for him next time we stay. We managed to park the car near to the cottage, the road is narrow so as long as you put your mirrors in then there's no problem. The walk down the hill is about 3 minutes, but 5-10 minutes back up (it gets slightly easier each time) great exercise after eating lots of pasties! The Cobweb does great food, the portions are HUGE! You must also visit the pottery next door to the Cobweb where you can watch the "Boscastle Magic Paint" We have already decided we will me staying at Tao again next year.
