Description

Warm and welcoming 2 bedroom house in Fontaine, a small traditional hamlet on outskirts of Brides les Bains, overlooking the valley and the centre of Brides. The old house, built in traditional style, has been sensitively renovated to provide the comfort of modern living whilst retaining some lovely features from the ancient building. It has a lovely light open ground floor area with full kitchen open to a cosy lounge area with sofa and chairs for family get togethers and a dining table with 6 chairs for chatting over a meal into the evening.

The very well equipped kitchen has everything guests could need with a full oven, new hob with four cooking areas and dishwasher. You will find all you need in the way of kitchenware and crockery to enjoy meals together.

Upstairs there is a large light filled bedroom with comfortable king sized bed and a further single bed plus a balcony with fabulous views over the valley. On this floor there is also the modern shower room with shower, washbasin and storage, toilet and washing machine.

On the top floor there is a single bed on the mezzanine, connected to the cosy second bedroom where there are two further single beds. The two areas are separated with a curtain for privacy.

Communal parking for the village is beside the house and the Olympe telecabine is an easy 5 minute drive of just over 1km into Brides centre where there is free parking. Here there are 230 outdoor parking spaces and 110 indoor ones within 10 minutes (at most) from the telecabine. Alternatively there is a navette from Fontaine each morning to Brides and the telecabine, with returns available on demand from any "villages" bus from the telecabine until late afternoon. There is also a pretty path down to Brides for walkers which is just 900m to the centre of the town and takes 15 minutes to walk. If this is blocked with snow then the main way down to Brides is still an easy 20 minute walk at any time of year.

Linens are included in the rental, with final cleaning at end of stay an additional 90€.

"We were a group of 3 staying at this accommodation. It was very homely, warm and welcoming. The main bed is king size and so comfortable. The facilities were as described. The kitchen was exceptional for making proper meals with plenty of pots pans and crockery. It was always warm with plenty of hot water. There was always somewhere to park. We drove down to the ski gondola each day but parking at the gondola is limited. However there is a free bus to take you. There is a spar in Bride but we took a 10 min drive to Moutier for a larger and cheaper supermarket. I would definitely recommend this accommodation as it was great value and very comfortable, peaceful and quiet. Julia communicated very quickly and efficiently. Thank you"
