Description
As the name suggests, Barn Cottage was once a barn on the farm and has been completely refurbished in June 2018 into a beautiful and stylish dorset holiday cottage. It is decorated to a high standard throughout with well equipped kitchen. The open plan living/dining area has comfortable leather sofas and large farmhouse table – perfect for a family gathering and relaxation. With two upstairs bedrooms and a luxury shower room downstairs, galley kitchen and spacious living dining area downstairs, it's well equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable coastal break away.
The village boasts 3 pubs, a post office, regular bus service to Lyme Regis and Bridport, and if you don't want to use your car during your stay there are plenty of walks from the front door!
We are allowing pets for the first time in 2026 so only well behaved and ideally none hair dropping dogs welcome. We have two dogs so yours must never be let out off the lead and without their human.
Wifi accessible throughout the cottage and is free.

By Emily on 01-Nov-2025Absolutely delightful! Great home from home. Wonderful location just a short walk to the beach to see the sun set. A great little pizza place at Seatown and a sauna box to boot. Close to Lyme Regis and Bridport.. lovely market town. Despite being close to the main road it was really peaceful. Great views from the bedroom window! And a delightful surprise from the owners on arrival! Hosts were great. Left us to it but on hand if anything needed. Very welcoming. Loads of local info in the house.

By David on 02-Aug-2025A really lovely, well looked-after house with a good sized living room (and plenty of seating), comfortable beds, a great view from the main bedroom, fabulous bathroom with walk-in shower and an ideal location, especially if you’re up for a 20 minute walk to an idyllic shingle beach with a proper pub. Carroll is great - lots of local knowledge and really helpful without being at all intrusive. The house is clean, off the main road and well placed to explore west Dorset. We thoroughly recommend.

By Janet on 23-Jun-2025Spotless, well equipped cottage in a convenient location for a shingle beach and walks along the coastal path. Excellent communication with the owner - one very insignificant instance with the toaster (2 slots not working out of 4) was solved within 24 hours despite it not affecting our stay in any way. Easy to miss the turning into the property - look for white railings on the right very soon after turning into Duck St & turn between them & a thatched cottage. Highly recommended

By Dagmar on 15-Sep-2024Dagmar Full starFull starFull starFull starFull star 15th Sep 2024 We had such a lovely week at Mallards Barn. The cottage is perfect. It had everything we needed and more, was clean and felt really homely right from the off. The area around Chideock is just so beautiful. We loved Lyme Regis, West Bay and Charmouth beaches. The icing on the cake every evening was our stroll to Seatown for the sunset with a meal and some drinks at The Anchor. We have already decided to definitely go back (hopefully) next year. Wonderful week away!!!!!
