Description
Half a mile down a winding lane, just ten minutes from the chateau town of Pontivy, you'll find the 15th Century Manoire of Lenvos. The Cottages:
All the gîtes have been tastefully renovated to modern standards while still maintaining the character of ancient Breton stonework, beamed ceilings and slate roofs.
The modern fitted kitchens are well equipped with oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. For visitors wanting to stay in touch with the outside world, French terrestial TV, UK satellite TV and fast internet access is available throughout.
With one to three bedrooms couples or families of up to six can be accommodated. Bed linen is provided.
In addition to the more formal oriental gardens, each has its own private garden with BBQ sun loungers and dining table.
We encourage visitors to explore the grounds and we enjoy sharing the environment where we are lucky enough to live. The land extends past one lake, across a games field, wildflower meadow to the banks of the River Blavet. From there the woodland path loops round past the ancient stone bread oven, to return by the second lake. The two private lakes buzz with dragon flies and abound with fish. The wide variety of habitats make Lenvos an ideal place for the nature lover and great for children to explore, discover and learn.
The fenced pool area has several sun terraces and two swimming pools. The larger slopes to 2m deep and is heated. The smaller shallow splash pool is ideal younger children. Also for children is a play area and secret garden with mini-house and a variety of traditional toys for imaginative play.
Local Shops:
Pontivy is the closest town, and is less than ten minutes drive. It has five supermarkets, a Monday market and numerous independent shops. The villages of Cleguerec and Neulliac both have excellent boulangeries for artisan breads and pastries.
Eating Out:
Pontivy has a wide choice of restaurants to suit all budgets and tastes, from traditional French, Breton Crêperies to Fast food and Oriental.
Many of the villages and small towns nearby have good indepentent bars, cafés and restaurants. A guide is provided in each cottage.
In The Area:
Central Brittany is renowned for its green, rolling countryside, accessible forests, waterside walks and cycle paths. Lenvos is on the River Blavet / Canal de Nantes à Brest and provides great level cycling and walking.
A 15 minute drive takes you to Lake Guerledan, Brittany's largest lake with watersports, several sandy beaches and shoreline restaurants.
The beaches and seaside towns of the south coast are about an hours easy drive.
The countryside is full of historic towns and quaint villages reflecting the strong culture and changing times of this beautiful region of France.
The Owners:
Phil & Fiona Sutherland moved to France with their daughters in 2003. They are on hand to maintain the gardens and pool. and, if requested help ensure visitors have an easy, relaxing holiday.

A Hidden Gem
By Lesley-George T on 27-Jul-2024This was our first visit to Gites de Lenvos but it certainly won’t be our last! We received a warm welcome on our arrival from Fiona & Phil (& Chip the dog ) and this continued throughout our 2 week stay. Our Gite (L’Ecurie) was immaculate and very well fitted out. Our private garden was a god-send as the covered patio area allowed us to still be outdoors even during the unusual inclement weather we experienced. When the weather was back to its usual sunny self, the charcoal BBQ provided was very well used and Chip seemed to know exactly when the food was cooked to perfection as he would suddenly appear at the gate gazing longingly at the BBQ . We made good use of the beautiful grounds, lake and swimming pool which were all immaculate. Because of the wonderful diverse habitat at Lenvos we were lucky enough to spot deer, a kingfisher, coypu and birds of prey and George caught several fish. Thank you once again Fiona and Phil for your hospitality and we look forward to our next visit.
The perfect escape for a family holiday!
By Henry G on 01-Aug-2025Our first time at Gites de Lenvos and this part of France as a family. We have two boys aged 5 and 8 and we had such a great time, we've already booked again for next year. The accommodation is fantastic, with really well-equipped and comfortable, private gites, and most importantly, kitchen. The owners Phil and Fiona are the most welcoming and helpful hosts, incredibly warm and friendly. Always present and there to help with recommendations or additional bits which you might need such as restaurant recommendations/reservations or days-out ideas for the children. They run a bakery-run service most days, which is very well-received! The property is surrounded by incredibly beautiful, natural grounds which provide a peaceful sanctuary to let the children come, go and explore. There is an abundance of nature and wildlife at the site, and Phil and Fiona have worked incredibly hard to create such a wonderful, natural environment to enjoy. The location is perfect for exploring Brittany, with excellent beaches within a 35-45 minute drive but also a great base for exploring the many beautiful small towns and villages in-land. Phil runs a Monday morning "Bushcraft" session for several hours for children. Our boys had such a wonderful time on both occasions, exploring the woods and grounds, understanding the wildlife and making some wonderful things. They still talk about it even several weeks after returning home. The pool is perfectly sized for the number of Gites/families and is meticulously clean and well maintained. We really had such a fantastic two week stay, in beautiful peaceful surroundings all looked after so wonderfully by Phil and Fiona. The perfect antidote to hectic modern life!
Lovely gites in beautiful surroundings
By Jeg1954 on 18-Jul-2025What a beautiful place to stay! Lenvos gites have everything - great accommodation, friendly hosts, swimming pools, fishing lakes, archery, all set in stunning scenery. This was our first visit (grandparents, parents and toddler), staying in Le Jardinière. It had everything we needed for our 10 day stay, with a safe, enclosed garden for the toddler. The play area, swimming pool, secret garden, Harry the rabbit and Chip were a big hit. The fishing wasn't easy, but some big bream and the tench that got away were worth the wait. The local villages and Pontivy were with visiting and very good for provisions. We would thoroughly recommend.
Superb Family Holiday
By Odyssey58526372617 on 18-Jul-2025First French holiday for 10 years, but worth the wait. La Maison was roomy and comfortable for our adult family of four with all the facilities you could wish for. Extensive grounds with many activities for younger children or pleasant walks for the more mature. Local area has much history as well as many excellent eateries. Even the Tour de France was on the doorstep. Hosts were on hand, knowledgeable, very friendly and even did the morning bread run for you! If you want a fabulous family break away you will not be disappointed.

The setting couldn’t be prettier,beautiful grounds that are pristinely kept. The gites are in the most beautiful spot and are spotlessly clean and very homely. The owners are an amazing couple who make you feel like you’ve known them for years. 10 minutes from Pontivy and all the conveniences you need. I haven’t enjoyed a holiday more in years,and would wholeheartedly recommend the place.
Fabulous Family Holiday in Brittany
By Gem on 12-Jul-2025Our boys (6 and 8 years) had a brilliant time exploring the grounds, making full use of the rope swing, spider woods, football pitch, badminton court, boules court and of course the swimming pool!! Phil also runs a bushcraft session with the kids which was a highlight! They also made firm friendships with Chip the dog and Harry the rabbit! We loved the daily bakery run that Phil and Fiona offer - it was a real treat! We thoroughly enjoyed the dinner that Phil & Fiona hosted which brought everyone staying on site together- the paella and desserts were delicious! Lenvos has a great location - right out in the countryside but less than 10mins from the centre of Pontivy. There’s so much to do in the area we had days out to Kingoland (the nearby theme park) which was a big hit! To the zoo at Pont-Scorff, Poule Fétan and multiple trips to Lake Guerdelan as well. But we also enjoyed days spent at Lenvos, as there’s so much to do on site that there’s plenty to keep the kids occupied. We feel very lucky to have found Lenvos, it is such a beautiful setting, a little piece of heaven!
