Explore the medieval heart of Dinan by walking up the scenic Rue de Jerzual, a journey back in time through cobblestone streets and ancient architecture. And if coastal adventures call, the stunning Emerald Coast, home to some of France’s most beautiful sandy beaches, is just a short drive away.
You'll also enjoy easy access to all that Dinan and the surrounding area have to offer. Hop on the Bus de Mer (Company Corsaire) for a scenic boat ride to the very popular nearby towns of St. Malo and Dinard, perfect for a coastal day trip. Additionally, the Jaman V, a popular riverboat, offers several daily trips between the port of Dinan and Léhon, providing another way to explore the region.
For cycling enthusiasts, the towpath at Dinan Port offers a delightful ride along the flat, well-maintained route beside the scenic Rance River. Cyclists can enjoy stunning views of the water, lush greenery, and charming boats at the port. The path leads to nearby attractions, including the historic village of Léhon, with its abbey and medieval charm. For more local exploration, a complimentary shuttle bus service, Dinamo, runs daily from the port to Dinan town center every 45 minutes, Monday through Saturday. ACTIVITIES IN THE PORT
- Rance Canoe Kayak Club : Rent a kayak, paddle, or canoe to explore the Rance! Available for rental in July and August from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and by reservation for the rest of the year.
- Dina'Vig : Explore the Rance River on an electric boat—no license required. Various trips are available, ranging from 1 hour to a full day, accommodating 4 to 9 people.
- Kaouann : Rent a variety of bikes, from hybrid models to tandems, for short rides or multi-day adventures. In summer, enjoy guided tours that include local product tastings. The flat paths along the port are perfect for riders of all age.
NEIGHBOURING LÉHON
A very pleasant 15-20 minute stroll along the scenic towpath from the port brings you to the neighbouring village of Léhon, a picturesque spot rich in history and charm. Known for its medieval architecture, cobbled streets, and tranquil riverside setting, Léhon has been recognised as one of the "Petites Cités de Caractère" (Small Towns of Character) for its cultural and historical significance.

- Don't miss Café Glutons, a cozy spot with a seasonal homemade dishes, in a cozy, community-focused atmosphere. Enjoy hearty breakfasts, light toasty lunches, poke bowls, and salads. This café is also known for its lively events, including Friday jam sessions and a popular Sunday brunch—perfect for savoring delicious food and the warm village atmosphere.

From the lounge, step directly onto the delightful, secluded courtyard, perfect for dining and enjoying the warmth of the summer sun throughout the day. This private area is furnished with teak garden furniture and a weber barbecue - ideal for relaxing and outdoor dining. Safe private parking is available at the front of the property. The Wi-Fi connection is excellent throughout the house, ensuring convenience and connectivity during your stay.
- Enter through a warm and welcoming entrance into this charming retreat. The attractive dining room is bright and spacious, featuring a large dining table, ideal for shared meals and gatherings. The elegant sitting room, beautifully decorated and boasts comfortable furnishing for relaxing evenings. The open-plan layout includes a fully equipped kitchen that flows seamlessly into the dining and sitting areas, making it perfect for socialising while preparing meals. A separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer adds extra convenience, and a well-appointed toilet completes the ground floor amenities.
- On the upper floor, the master bedroom features a plush king-sized bed for restful nights, along with a private ensuite, complete with an Italian shower and toilet for ultimate comfort. Bedroom 2 offers a double bed and includes its own ensuite shower room and toilet, providing a relaxing, private space. Bedroom 3 is thoughtfully arranged with twin beds that can be easily converted into a king bed, offering flexibility to suit your needs. Bedroom 4 is cozy and features a single bed, ideal for additional guests or children. A family bathroom, complete with a bath and shower screen, serves the household, and an additional separate toilet provides extra convenience for guests.

The decor is absolutely gorgeous and extremely well-thought-out. The property has everything you could possibly need. We have very much enjoyed sitting in the stunning courtyard, made good use of the excellent facilities in the kitchen to enjoy our meals both outside and inside. Dinan is a truly fascinating town with lots of places to explore. The boulangerie across the bridge was brilliant for our fresh bread and croissants every morning. Thank you so much to the owners for letting us stay in their beautiful property and also to Judith for arranging it all. Her excellent communication and the wonderful hamper to welcome us. We would definitely love to return but next time it will be for longer.

Without a doubt, it’s one of the best houses we’ve ever stayed in. There’s truly nothing to improve; everything is simply perfect. The location is excellent too—just steps from the Dinan port area, yet tucked away enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Dinan itself, with its stunning architecture, is a real gem, and this house is the perfect base to experience it fully. Thank you to the owners for providing such an exceptional home. We’ll most certainly be back!
A Truly Amazing House

Its location is perfect, with restaurants close by and the pleasure of wandering along the riverside just moments away. Dinan itself is a fabulous town, full of beautiful shops and wonderful restaurants. We highly recommend Atelier Gaumond on Rue du Quai at the port, overlooking the river, delicious food and staff who welcome you like a treasured friend. Judith was an exceptional host, always on hand to help with any queries. Thank you for everything.

By Vivien Yates on 22-Aug-2025We have just had a lovely holiday at Le Maison Cachée. It was ideally situated to get all the charm of Port Dinan and yet be set back enough to get quiet and privacy. The house itself was spacious, well maintained and with numerous excellent facilities, (especially showers), for three generations. It felt very relaxing and homely. The self contained, rose filled courtyard was a bonus too. It also helped that the house it is an easy walk to a variety of very good restaurants so no having to take the car. We really couldn't have made a better choice of property and Judith's help and friendly communication right from the start was very reassuring. I really hope we'll be able to return.
