A gorgeous retreat for one or two people.Great Eckworthy – The Granary is a delightful rural retreat surrounded by gorgeous countryside that is perfect for those looking for an adults-only luxury getaway to north Devon. Positioned at the top of the drive, it overlooks the beautiful valley.
Completely redecorated in November 2025 with a wonderful combination of sunny outside spaces and cosy interiors, you’ll always be able to find somewhere to relax in this characterful cottage for two.
There is private parking for 2 cars. Guests can enjoy superfast broadband and the delightful local pub which is only 2.5 miles away!
The Granary is pet free.
An ideal escape for adults ensuring a peaceful and relaxed environment for all guests.
EV charging is available at cost.
Perfectly positioned just three miles outside the village of Buckland Brewer. Enjoy all of that blissful countryside calm and quiet and just a short car journey gets you to the stunning North Devon coast with coastal walks and beautiful beaches. Picturesque Hartland to the west and the stunning golden beaches of Westward Ho! to the east. Very close to RHS Rosemoor, the unique, privately owned village of Clovelly, Instow & Appledore. Approximately an hour from Dartmoor and 15 minutes to the boarder of Cornwall.
Kitchen & Living Area
This is a reverse-level cottage with the kitchen, lounge and dining area located upstairs. You can enjoy glorious views across the fields. There is a smart TV with Netflix, electric hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, Nespresso machine, washing machine, and slimline dishwasher. There is also a beautiful wood burner for the chillier evenings and a huge basket of logs.
The Bedroom
Downstairs there is a bedroom with a gorgeous king-size Simba bed and cotton high thread count linen. The Granary has the luxury of a separate, very generous dressing room, with plenty of hanging storage, dressing table and chair, so there is plenty of space for all of your things.
The Shower-Room
Downstairs, you’ll find the shower-room with a WC and wash-basin. Bramley products are supplied.
Outside Space
A very special private outside space. You’ll find a private patio with hot tub, table & chairs and sun loungers. A new addition this year is the Hartman outdoor lounge set, perfect for your morning coffee. The area boasts very peaceful surroundings with incredible night skies, perfect for a spot of stargazing.

What a fabulous cottage
By Stuart & Sheila on 02-Aug-2025Had a week in The Granary. What a fabulous cottage. Only 15 mins from everywhere but so quiet you’d think there was nobody else around. Nice treats on arrival and Chris and Anna made us feel very welcome. Cottage like a show home and had everything you need, well stocked kitchen and nice touches with robes and towels for the hot tub. Patio and hot tub area tucked away, was such a sun trap and very private. Great for dark skies – spent a number of evenings watching the sunset and the stars. Plenty of room for 2 and the dressing room was a bonus.
Beautiful accommodation

We had a fab long weekend

The Granary was beautiful inside and the addition of the most comfortable bed ever and robes for the hot tub made it feel even more luxurious. ! Lovely peaceful countryside location but near enough to the beautiful North Devon coast. Would definitely return..
What a wonderful break

The grounds are beautiful and lovely to walk around. Hot tub was spot on and will be back again. Chris and Anna were so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend this place to stay. Home from home yet again, everything was perfect, well done to Chris and Anna
