Description

Superb setting, beautifully converted to the highest standard, but still keeping some of the original features and its charm. Bishops is an ideal holiday for peace and tranquility in a unique/quirky grade II listed building but only a short drive to all the amenities and attractions this outstanding area provides. The chapel has a wood burner, an electric Aga, full central heating and underfloor heating in the children's bunk bedroom and family bathroom making it really cosy for those romantic winter breaks.

The south facing garden overlooks farmland and the west facing decking is delightful, you can watch the sun set over the farmland and star gaze the unpolluted skies. The decking, patio and garden are all accessed directly from the lounge, double bedroom, bunk room and kitchen. There are windows (some original) on all four aspects of the chapel throwing shadows of the gothic windows on walls and ensuring this is a very light and airy accommodation. Home comforts are provided for a comfortable stay, these include BT Vision TV, DVD player and a wide selection of DVDs, radio, CD player, docking station and CDs, free Wi-Fi access, children's and adult games and books. All linen, towels, heating and first basket of logs are included in the price.

I'm sorry, we are unable to accommodate dogs at the Chapel.

• A large monitor, mouse and keyboard to connect to your own laptop

The layout of the lounge, bedrooms and garden means you can work while your loved ones entertain themselves elsewhere in the Chapel or grounds.

Perfect for a break away from all the hustle and bustle....

By Shelagh and friends on 29-Apr-2022

Myself and 4 friends stayed at Bishops for a walking weekend, it sits down a quiet country lane about 5 miles from Bude and was perfect for our needs. We loved the quirky layout and everything about this former Methodist Chapel, the history surrounding it's existence was fascinating to read along with photographs of it's conversion in the 1980s. The lounge area is massive with stunning country and garden views, at night there is no light pollution and being a 'townie' I found this so refreshing to be able watch the sunset/stars with completely clear vision. We all loved it at Bishops, and Tracey the owner is so pleasant and helpful before, during and after our stay, she left us some lovely treats and a welcome card on our arrival, such lovely touches which make the overall stay very special and memorable. We definitely want to return again but just wish it could be for longer next time.

October half term break 2021

By Dave & Marie Wilds on 20-Dec-2021

This is a quirky but gorgeous and very comfortable property, everything you think you might need is provided and more besides. Off the beaten track so quiet and a great haven at the end of the day to come back to and relax, but close enough to the coast and all that this part of Cornwall has to offer. We visited in Autumn, so appreciated the roaring log burner, but the garden and patio look like they would be equally welcoming in the summer. Highly recommended.

Somewhere to recharge your batteries

By D Matthews on 13-Feb-2017

If you are looking for somewhere to relax and recharge your batteries this is the place. It has everything you need for a wonderful break all year round. From the moment we arrived it felt like home, warm, cosy and tastefully decorated with bags of character. The Aga and log fire is a great combination on a cold winters evening if you are not up to venturing out. The setting is stunning with views of the countryside but not too far from civilisation. We had a wonderful break and would definitely recommend this beautiful property for anyone looking for a 5 star break.
