The house is ideal for families as well as groups of friends. The rooms are all decorated to a high standard with many original features and several characterful ‘brocante’ furniture items, whilst offering all the modern conveniences a large group could want for. The kitchen is open plan and there is a large dining area, as well as a cosy lounge with television opening off the main kitchen/dining area.

The Farmhouse is completely flexible with its accommodation and layout and can easily accommodate a large family group of different ages or two families travelling together.

ACCOMODATION
On the Ground Floor, you enter through small iron gates and into a small entrance courtyard and then into the entrance hall. The Kitchen/Dining room is large and double height and overlooks the covered terrace to the back, with double French doors leading out to the heated swimming pool to the side. The Kitchen has a large Dining Area which seats 8 comfortably, whilst the Kitchen is equipped with a large range oven, large fridge/freezer, separate drinks fridge and dishwasher, plus a washing machine and dryer rack in the adjacent utility room. The lounge area has comfortable sofas, a wide screen TV with satellite channels through Starlink offering high speed internet, a CD-player and the WiFi hub. There is shower and separate wc off the entrance hall

Ground Floor Bedrooms
Bedroom 1 is a large bedroom with a super king bed and views out over the front of the property. There is a shower-room just next door which is set in it's own corridor for privacy. There is air-conditioning in this bedroom.
Bedroom 2 is a large bedroom with a super king bed and small seating area, French doors to a garden terrace, air-conditioning, and a mezzanine area which has a double sofa bed. There is also an en-suite bath and shower room.
Bedroom 3 is a double bedroom with a super king bed with double aspect, air-conditioning and French doors to the garden, and an en suite bath and shower-room.
Bedroom 4 is a smaller double aspect twin bedroom with a window to the garden and French doors opening onto the covered terrace. Ideal for children as guests here use the shower and separate wc off the entrance hall which is next to Bedroom 1.

First Floor Bedroom
Bedroom 5 is a double bedroom set into the eaves. There is a portable air-conditioning unit. There is an en-suite bathroom.

There is a travel cot available if required. Please request at the time of booking.

There is a Gas BBQ. There is a Petanque area as well as Table Tennis.

OUTSIDE LIVING
The Farmhouse is superb for outdoor living and is set in a lovely large garden, with the house being set back up a long tree-lined driveway, with a shady car-port for two cars. At the back of the house, accessed from the Kitchen is a fantastic covered dining terrace with a large dining table and chairs for 8, and a Chesney dual fuel log burner and grill and separate charcoal BBQ.

The heated swimming pool is located just a few steps up from the kitchen to the side of the property. There is another covered area by the poolside with comfy seating and a dining table for 8, as well as a deck area with sun-loungers, and a handy loo and shower. The 10 x 5m swimming pool is heated, with an electric shutter cover for security.

The poolside has fantastic views out across the pool and garden, as well as lighting for the long summer evenings, making this an ideal spot to relax and watch the sunset reflected in the pool. From the back corner of the garden, a newly gravelled footpath leads across the adjacent field to join the road leading into Castillonnès village centre and all its amenities.

LOCAL AREA
The famously beautiful bastide villages of Issigeac, Villeréal and Lauzun are only 10 minutes’ drive away, and Monpazier, Eymet and Monflanquin also easy to reach within 20-25 minutes.

This amazing converted barn is in an ideal location for a fabulous family holiday. The property is located on the edge of the village of Castillonnes and is a 10 minute walk into the centre of the village with shops, bars and restaurants. Yet at the same time, you have a spacious family home, stunning gardens and an amazing covered dining terrace and heated swimming pool.

The village of Castillonnes has a weekly morning market each Tuesday throughout the year and during the summer months there are additional night markets as well as many other different fetes and celebrations.

There are activities to suit all ages and interests, foodies will enjoy the great local restaurants at the heart of France's centre of gastronomic excellence, as well as the wine of AOC Bergerac. The area has been described as the capital of world prehistory, and culture vultures are spoilt for choice with caves, museums and chateaux aplenty.

GETTING HERE
The Dordogne riverside town of Bergerac with it's International Airport is just a 20 minute drive north and the vibrant city of Bordeaux with a larger Airport is just a one hour and 40 minute drive to the West. This area has many other beautiful bastide villages such as Eymet, Issigeac, Mo/Onflanquin, Monpazier, Villereal, to name just a few!
