A Spacious Villa for 6-8 People plus 2 Babies with Exclusive Pool.Welcome to Les Hirondelles - a detached, 3-star-accredited, spacious and comfortable barn conversion, ideally situated in the beautiful Lot-et-Garonne for your holiday in South-West France.
Located between Duras and Marmande, from here you can explore the nearby bastide towns and villages with their castles, market squares, river valleys, vineyards and sunflower fields.
Within 5 to 15 minutes drive, you can find markets and shops for your daily needs, bars and restaurants, or outdoor activities such as horse-riding, kayaking, crazy golf and animal parks.
There are atmospheric night markets during the summer season, with a wide choice of food stalls, arts and crafts, local specialities and live entertainment.
Hire some bikes or just bring your walking shoes, to enjoy a selection of marked hiking and cycling routes - one of which passes through the village.
You can even plan a day at the seaside, as Arcachon on the Atlantic coast is only an hour and 45 minutes away, boasting the largest sand dune in Europe - La Dune du Pyla.
The beautiful town of Bergerac is 50km away and UNESCO classified Bordeaux is just 90km via motorway or country roads through famous wine-growing areas.

Leave ReviewFantastic week in countryside Bliss
By Oliver M on 04-Jul-2025We had a fantastic week for my wife’s 30th birthday with her family and the two babies. Matt and Pauline were fabulous hosts who had created the perfect environment for families. There were cots, baby toys, baby books, inflatables… The list goes on. An absolutely beautiful house in the middle of what felt like nowhere which was so lovely and peaceful. It was very private from the hosts house but was reassuring that they were close by if we needed.The pool was fantastic, with stunning views and a lovely place to relax, had a barbecue and Dined alfresco in the evenings. The hosts, Matt and Pauline were six stars, on one day we had to take one of the babies to the doctors and Mat even drove down himself to check in to see how they were doing (he didn’t have to go out his way at all to do that so incredibly grateful). Any questions or queries were seen to straight away.We had a lovely time and thank the hosts again. Can highly recommend staying here.

By shl980 on 12-Aug-2022shl980 32 contributions Rural French gîte holiday with the family What a tremendous find! We have just spent two fabulous weeks at Les Hirondelles. The gîte is a magnificent renovated stone barn which is open plan with a vaulted ceiling to give a very spacious feel with french doors to a shady terrace on one side and a fabulous decked pool area on the other which overlook the beautiful Gironde countryside. We really cannot recommend the property and hosts enough! Matt and Pauline are the loveliest couple who offered local area information if requested and the nicest welcome basket ever! We spent our days reading by the pool in the afternoons because the weather was sizzlingly hot! In the mornings and evenings we visited markets, gorgeous nearby medieval villages and stunning vineyards which there are aplenty! We also kayaked on the Garonne and spent a day in historic Bergerac. A holiday to replenish the body and nourish the soul! A superb region to visit, quieter than the Dordogne and a gem of a gîte! Wholeheartedly recommend to families as very child friendly too. Thank you Matt and Pauline -although our visit was postponed by the pandemic it was worth the wait!

Beautiful countryside and markets - day and night ones too. Matt and Pauline are very caring and thoughtful hosts. The fridge was full of goodies and the house was well equipped in games, pool table and darts board. Things to do when the sun is hiding and the kids need entertaining. We really recommend this area and rental :-)

By Scenic36645530199 on 07-Aug-2019Scenic36645530199 1 contribution The best holiday experience in France We had two wonderful weeks in Gites Hirondelles and were treated to an exceptionally spec;ed holiday home perfectly placed for exploring South Western France. Matt and Pauline were wonderful hosts who were never intrusive but there with support, advice or just for a chat if needed. The accommodation was superb with three large double bedrooms and one twin, with a beautiful open plan design to kitchen, diner and lounge. A pool table, a fussball table, games galore and TV if needed. The best was outside with a lovely seating area and a pool that allowed us to get away from the 40+c weather! Superb location to with Duras on the doorstep, Bergerac and the Dordogne a short drive away and beaches galore to the West. A wonderful holiday!

Lovely welcome pack of wine cheese bread, Great location as our Son and Family live 10 mins away. We have been to the area over the past 15yrs and this is the best accomodation we have stayed in. The pool and view were outstanding,The bedrooms excellent, and we had a newborn Grandson, so the cot and everything for him was superb. Inside was all you needed to entertain yourselves from pool table, football table and music selection. If you needed anything you only had to ask. The surrounding area of Duras, Marmande and the many night markets kept us occupied. And St emillion is only an hr away.We will be staying again . Steve, Wendy and family.

From the initial booking, contact has been excellent with regular updates on the Facebook page. On arrival, Matt and Pauline had provided a welcome pack of local wine, cheese and other goodies, together with an overview of the gite. The gite is so spacious with three separate sleeping areas and a huge interior area. Everything you could wish for has already been provided - CD player with a huge selection of music, TV with FreeSat and a DVD player, again with a good selection of movies, and a pool table. The bedrooms and bathrooms are excellent. The outside dining area was used every evening and there was sufficient seating around the large sea water pool. I recommend sitting around the pool on a clear night and marvel at the beauty of the sky. The gite has the feeling of being isolated yet is just 15 minutes from Marmande and Duras.
