Description

Beautiful Charentais Bungalow - with Pool, large well equipped games room, bikes & tandem.

Situated on the edge of the pretty village of St Fraigne and just 6km from the attractive town of Aigre, is our beautiful Charentais bungalow.
It comprises of a large sitting/dining room with satelite TV, DVD and a stereo, a fully fitted kitchen, bathroom & separate toilet, 1 double bedroom and 2 twin bedrooms, all furnished to a high standard with bed linen provided.
The lounge opens onto a large private sunny garden with an above ground pool, sun loungers, patio furniture & a gas BBQ.
In the basement is a laundry area and our fabulous large games room, with pool table,
table tennis table, football table, dartboard, retro 50 cd jukebox, video game screen with many games,
4 adult bikes & 2 childrens bikes, plus 2 road racing bikes & a tandem! Helmets available in assorted sizes.
In the village of St Fraigne, is a Bar which sells some produce and a Patisserie also a Tennis Court, Football pitch & the beautiful Nature Reserve.
In Aigre (6km) there are a variety of shops, a Carrefour supermarket with fuel available 24 hours,
Bars & Restaurants, chemist and a twice weekly Market.
This is an excellent area for safe cycling & sightseeing, with easy access to Cognac, Angouleme, Poitiers and Futurescope and just over 1 hour away are the beautiful beaches of Royan and the zoo at La Palmyre.
Nearby there is horse riding, tennis, water parks, boating, swimming & fishing lakes & rivers.
With glorious weather and plenty to see, this region has something for everyone.

We all had a great time

If you are looking for value for money, you will not go wrong here. This bungalow easily caters for 6 and the most surprising aspect of the place is the enormous games room downstairs providing a wonderful opportunity for all the family/guests to enjoy themselves playing ping pong, pool, darts, table footie whilst listening to music from the juke box. During the day, there are so many activities to contemplate, we enjoyed the cycling,(cycles are there, including a tandem), we went to the lakes and the river for a swim and pick nics. Gorgeous weather. A perfect week in the Charente. Oh forgot to mention the local boulangerie.

Amazing stay at Charentais Bungalow Date of stay: June 2019 What an a amazing holiday. Myself and 5 friends stayed at the bungalow for a week over the summer this year. The bungalow was welcoming, it felt like home from home, it was really clean and well kept. The garden area was large with a swimming pool & BBQ. There was a games room which provided endless fun and bikes so you could venture out and explore. We went to the local lake which was a good day out. I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to visiting again!! Review by: Flick Cross
