French House with large garden and pool, in a tiny village near Boulogne sur Gesse, Haute Garonne in the Midi Pyrenees. lt is in the village so not isolated but nevertheless, private. Located in the prettiest countryside with views across undulating wooded hillsides to the stunning Pyrenees, one hour to Toulouse or the mountains, several market and bastide towns 10 to 30 minutes away.
This wonderful, warm, light house with 3.2m high ceilings and endless original features, has 5 comfortable bedrooms, dining room (with french windows to SW terrace and garden), a drawing room and a sitting room. There is plenty of room for family and friends to gather but equally space to dissipate and enjoy quiet space. This is a family house thus is well equipped and set up for family living. Located one hour to the SW of the cultural city of Toulouse and close to the Pyrenees in the rolling Comminges region not far from historic bastide town of Aurignac with an organic weekly market, shops and restaurants
The house and private 11m swimming pool are surrounded by south facing gardens and terraces. Situated close to Spain and just 2 hours from both the Mediterranean and Atlantic, both coasts are accessible for day or overnight trips. Prices include garden and pool maintenance if letting for more than 2 weeks. Just one hour from Toulouse should guests wish to benefit from the rich cultural life of this renaissance city with its famous opera house, concert halls and markets.

We were so lucky that Sally decided to dip her toe in the holiday rental market with her elegant former family home in Charlas. It is very much a family home, clearly loved by the owners, full of character, and extremely well equipped.

The photos on the website simply don’t do justice to the views of the Pyrenees. We have been holidaying in the area for 20 years and have never had such a good view! You simply can’t tire of it and we enjoyed many happy meals on the terrace with this spectacular backdrop.

The family are clearly keen cooks and had a whole array of cookery books and ingredients in the well stocked kitchen. The kitchen is small, but there is nothing you could want for they have every gadget going and we took full advantage of the equipment and produce from the fantastic local markets.

The main rooms are well proportioned and the children in our party loved sleeping in the bunk beds. All bedrooms and upstairs bathrooms lead off a large central hall was great for all the bedtime hopping from the kids.

There are some good eateries nearby and Sally was always ready with tips and recommendations. She also kindly arranged for someone to come in and do some cleaning for us which was a much appreciated additional service.

Our party included three generations and everyone had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a home, rather than a house, to rent. We felt extremely comfortable there and enjoyed all Sally’s personal touches.
