Description

Greenwich Cottage, in the coastal village of Chideock, is just a 20 minute walk to the beach at Seatown, 3 miles from the historic town of Bridport and 7 miles from the bustling seaside resort of Lyme Regis. This stylish cottage with south-facing garden has all the charm of an old property but with modern facilities to make your stay really comfortable and enjoyable.

Great pubs nearby and walkable too. The George Inn is just across the road offering excellent pub grub and Sunday roasts, The Clock Inn is a 5 minute walk away near the church and The Anchor inn is by the sea at Seatown, a 20 minute countryside stroll away.

With two upstairs bedrooms and a bathroom, the layout of this cottage is good with downstairs large living/dining room leading to the well equipped kitchen. There is a log burner in the living area which is great for evenings in during the winter/autumn months. Other heating too throughout the cottage.

The lovely garden at Greenwich Cottage is perfect for enjoying the south facing garden with a decked area at the bottom giving lovely views across the fields and Dorset hills. Perfect for enjoying alfresco eating in the summer months too.

Previous guests have commented how peaceful the cottage and garden is. The cottage is not directly on the road but down a little lane off the main road and the front door and garden faces southwards away from the main road.

There is parking at the cottage for one vehicle.

Bed super comfy

By Sally on 22-Sep-2025

We had the best week. Heather and Alan were really helpful whilst also leaving us to enjoy ourselves. So much quieter in the West of Dorset to the East but also easy to get everywhere we wanted and we did a lot of exploring. Lovely sitting at the bottom of the garden with a drink and the view. Great walks straight out the door. The cottage was exactly as pictured, felt like home, cosy but not cluttered. Great amenities, had everything we needed. The George pub opposite was very handy. The Hive Beach Cafe was fab and The Anchor at Seatown. Couldn’t have asked for more. Bed super comfy also. Perfect week away.

One of the nicest places we've stayed

By Janet on 31-Oct-2025

A lovely well located, well equipped cosy and comfortable cottage. One of the nicest we’ve stayed in. Lovely area for walking without needing to set off in the car. Would thoroughly recommend this cottage for people wanting a peaceful break.

A truly wonderful stay

By Aida on 20-Sep-2025

It truly felt like a home away from home. The garden was so amazing, picturesque views of the countryside with cows and sheep. The home is incredibly cosy, and all the amenities you could want with a toddler (high chair, stair gate, and cot are all included). Heather was great at communicating and very friendly. I would highly recommend this place, truly a wonderful stay!

Wholeheartedly recommend

By Jo on 16-Aug-2025

The cottage is beautiful. Lots of attention to detail. Lovely furniture and artwork throughout. Kitchen is small but very well equipped and the coffee pods and coffee maker were a lovely touch. Stunning garden and views. Busy road outside but that’s hardly noticeable in the cottage. Great base for exploring. Heather was a fantastic host. Already planning when we can return. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

A true gem

By William on 23-Mar-2025

Wonderful back garden and cosy cottage. Seatown beach and the Anchor is a true gem, to be able to walk down with our baby for a beach walk, lunch and beers on the coasts was perfect.
