The open-plan living area is the heart of the home, offering plenty of space for family and friends to gather. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the tranquil lake, while the balcony invites you to enjoy your morning coffee with the soothing sounds of nature. The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need for easy family meals or special celebrations, from cast iron casseroles to elegant glassware. Share delicious meals and stories around the large oak dining table, creating memories that last a lifetime.
Daisy Chain’s five bedrooms comfortably sleep up to nine guests (plus two cots), making it ideal for larger family groups. On the ground floor, you’ll find three bedrooms, including a king-size room with an ensuite and sliding doors leading to the sun deck - perfect for starting your day with breathtaking lake views. A single and a twin room offer additional family-friendly sleeping spaces. The first floor bunk room is a favourite for children, while the second floor master suite provides a peaceful retreat for grandparents, complete with vaulted ceilings, oak furnishings, and its own ensuite.
This holiday home is thoughtfully designed for families, with features to make traveling with children stress-free. From cots, highchairs, and blackout blinds to toys, games, and books, everything is provided to keep little ones entertained. Outside, families can enjoy scooting or cycling along nearby paths, or take the Canadian canoe out for a unique adventure on the water.
Guests also have access to fantastic amenities, including a spa with indoor and outdoor pools and a sauna room, tennis courts, and children’s playgrounds.
Within the Lower Mill Estate, there is a restaurant where guests can eat or plenty of family friendly Cotswold pubs within easy reach.
There are lots of water based attractions within Cotswolds Lakes including the largest inland beach in the UK.

By Jinal on 11-May-2024We booked the Daisy Chain because of its child-friendliness and it did not disappoint. Our 3 year old loved the selection of toys and books (and the door stops!). The home itself has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Waking up to the sun streaming in over the lake was wonderful. We took advantage of the Mill Village outdoor pool (we were pleasantly surprised that it was actually properly heated) and the spa pools looked lovely too. It’s a great location for exploring the area. Naomi and Derek were great hosts – very responsive to questions before our visit and also whilst we were there. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.
Our third visit
By Simeon on 16-May-2024This was our 3rd visit to Daisy Chain. This year we stayed at Daisy Chain as a group of friends with young children. It was brilliant having access to water for canoeing and paddle boarding and to the spa for swimming. The weather didn’t get in the way of a brilliant time. Daisy Chain is perfect for relaxing with a well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds! We’ll do our best to come back (again).
Something for everyone
By Katie on 30-May-2024I have lost count of how many times we have returned to Daisy Chain. The accommodation has everything you need for children and adults and the kitchen is well equipped. The house is well kept and decorated and the balcony offers the most stunning views (maybe the best on the estate). There is something for everyone at Lower Mill – kayaks, paddle boards, bike rides, walks, football, tennis, a bar, spa, indoor and outdoor pools, wildlife and chickens!
Catching fish and swimming in the lake
By Anne on 05-Jun-2024Nine of us stayed at Daisy Chain as a special holiday to celebrate a 60th Birthday and our group included 7 year old twins and a four month old baby. We all had a really fantastic time as the house was bright and spacious with such incredible views! Everything was perfect for a group of different ages and the kitchen was really well equipped . We made good use of the Canadian canoe, were able to catch fish from just outside the house and one of us was brave enough to swim in the lake. We are hoping to have another holiday in Naomi and Derek’s lovely property sometime soon .
This holiday home is perfect
By Joanna on 01-Aug-2024This holiday home is perfect. Situated on a lake with beautiful views, the upside down house has everything a family would want or need to enjoy a relaxing break. Lower Mill is a fantastic location and the young people and I had plenty of occupation swimming, boating, playing tennis, nature walking and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We never needed to leave the site but there is plenty to do locally if you wanted to. The let was well presented and the hosts had thought of everything. The site is set up to be as eco friendly as possible which we appreciated. Its not party central…that’s not what it is for but it is a wonderful place to stay.
Celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary
By Keith on 12-Aug-2024A lovely week of celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary with all our immediate family. We enjoyed the water activities, pools and lake. Badminton, table-tennis and tennis kept all age-groups happy and sophisticated board games focused minds. Family groups prepared evening meals with international flavours. We had one evening out at the Baker’s Arms and can highly recommend the food, the ambiance and the value. To discover that they had Butcombe Ale on tap was an added pleasure. Daisy Chain is such a lovely venue. Thank you so much Derek and Naomi.
