Description
As its name implies La Vieile Ferme was the old farmhouse when we bought La Julerie in 2000. Our son Tim who was our builder, and undertook all of the conversion work at La Julerie, removed an internal wall in this gite to create one large groundfloor room. Entrance is through a small hallway into this large living room with its corner kitchen, dining and also salon areas; there is a washroom with basin and toilet.If you are coming with a large party and are booking more than one gite, La Vieille Ferme will be one of the gites you must book as there is plenty of room for up to 24 people to sit together if tables are brought in from the other gites. For all bookings of less than a full week guests pay for 1 night longer than they stay
Upstairs offers 1 double bedroom, one with twin beds and a 3rd bedroom with bunk beds; a cot is kept erected in this bedroom. One bathroom has bath & basin whilst the other has shower, basin & toilet. There is a also a separate toilet on this floor With central heating and also a wood burner this gite will make ideal holiday accommodation all year.
This gite has patios both in front and behind the property and a terraced lawned garden alongside. Invariably the wooden patio furniture will be left on the front patio as this is the warmest area at La Julerie, but some guest prefer to move it to the rear patio- the choice is yours!
Adjoining the gites you will find the large games room in which there is a table tennis table, a seating area, there is a section of books and some games and quite a few toys for the younger children; to the rear of the room there are 2 shower changing rooms and also a toilet. For security reasons access to the swimming pool is only through the games room; the pool is over 9m long by 4m width and has a level depth of approx 1.65m, at one end there are a set of Roman steps to give easy access and around the other 3 sides there are 2 narrow steps to assist one in getting out. With the level bottom it means that parents can stand anywhere in the pool and assist their children/infants to learn to swim; another feature of the pool is it has sliding glass panels which are opened in fine weather; I therefore describe the pool as indoor/outdoor. The level bottom and the sliding panels have proved to be a very popular features. The pool area is surrounded on 3 sides by a walled patio on which there are sun loungers
There is a large garden area with an elevated play station with swings, slide a fireman's pole etc for the elder children and a sandpit and playhouse for the younger children.

La Julerie is a mere 2km from Corseul & 10km from the historic town of Dinan. The lovely beaches of the "Cote d'Amor" are only 20km away. La Julerie is situated in a quiet rural setting away from main roads. As it slopes gently to the south it is a natural sun-trap. Over the past20 years we have seen and listed over 60 different types of birds as the buildings attract many swallows.
At night time you will hear the owls, not cars! Our gites make an ideal location for families or groups who want to relax and enjoy Brittany's charms in peaceful surroundings

"Fabulous Accomodation - Lovely area"
By ?? on 15-Nov-2013I stayed in La Vielle Ferme with my husband and three children (aged 8,5 and 2) for a week in August (and our party also had another one of the cottages in the complex) we had a fabulous week. There were 12 of us in total in the 2 cottages (6 adults and 6 children) and we managed easily to all eat together in la Vielle Ferme which has a large dining table. Our accomodation was spacious, clean and well equipped. The kids loved the pool and the games room, and the masses of outside space. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and was always around to make sure everything was OK. The local area was lovely we visited some lovely beaches and picturesque towns - I would certainly stay there again
First Impressions count

A lovely friendly welcome, a large, comfortable and spotlessly clean farmhouse, plenty of large towels (plus extra for the pool), instructions/directions for days out etc.The family go to a great deal of trouble to make sure your stay is a good one. There was a lovely bottle of wine for us plus beers and water in the fridge and home grown tomatoes for us to eat - very much appreciated thank you. Robert/Tim. He is an informative and kind host who ensures your stay is a good one and most efficient too - faultless service from start to finish. The gites and grounds are immaculately maintained. We loved the swimming pool - perfect for sunny or rainy days (top comes off!), sunbathing area and the indoor games room was a constant source of fun with endless games of table tennis We cycled to Corseul for fresh croissants in the morning! What we liked most was the location of La Julerie. It is rural so has the benefit of being quiet and most relaxing. It is ideally placed for days out - not far from beautiful Dinan (a treat), Dinard, St Malo and many other wonderful places (all within a 15/30 minute drive). I could go on and on about this place - it is stunning. We would go back any time - it is simply wonderful. Very hard to beat for a holiday destination. LOVED IT!
