Overview
Description
Ty Coch (Red Cottage) was a derelict barn restored by the Croft Family Builders 2021 as a lockdown project where we’ve kept as many original features as possible. These include the thick walls, beams, slate window sills & slate tiled floors to keep a cottage ambience but with modern up to date facilities.
Originally a long single storey outbuilding & it is the first property you’ll see on arrival once you drive up our farm lane. It sleeps 7 + our travel cot, we added a dormer bedroom upstairs which is now the master King Bedroom with it’s own shower room right next door. It has a luxury king size bed with a reading chair, dressing table & small TV. This makes a peaceful refuge from family life going on downstairs!
On the higher end of the ground floor there is a Double Bedroom next to the main family sized bathroom with a bath & separate large shower cubicle, toilet & vanity sink unit. A Triple Single Bedroom is located at the far end of the hall, ideal for siblings, cousins or just 3 single adults. I have added a TV since the photos were taken, useful for morning kids programmes & dvd. This room can become an extra family room by pushing 2 beds together, there is another single & our travel cot also fits in if required. All the bedrooms will be freshly made up to your requirements including bath towels & hand towels in all wash rooms. Please bring your own beach towels as those supplied are for the cottage use only. The bedrooms & stairs are carpeted therefore pets not allowed in these rooms, there is a stair gate installed at bottom of stairs & another for utility room when dogs are wet after the beach. Note: Max 2 dogs per cottage.
The kitchen, dining room & lounge are a light & airy open plan space on the lowest level. For any mobility concerns there are just 4 slate steps (with a handrail) from the ground floor bedrooms & main bathroom to the communal living areas.
The new traditional oak kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, ceramic hob, fan oven, fridge freezer, food processor & more faces out onto the enclosed fenced garden. It is very well equipped for self catering for up to 8 people & has a walk in larder for storing all your provisions. The dining area has a huge oak farmhouse table which can seat 6-8 including stools & high chairs for children. The table is ideal for playing board games, jigsaws or using laptops after meal times. The lounge has 3 Italian leather sofas plus additional leather seat & footstool. There are additional leatherette bean bags at top of stairs if children prefer. There is a wall mounted 55” Smart TV, CD Player/Radio & several oak coffee tables, a reading lamp & a games cabinet.
The flooring downstairs is slate tiled throughout so that your DOGS may enjoy the living areas with you & the family. This room leads out via French doors to a newly built conservatory & patio then a securely fenced back garden.
There is an extra toilet & sink just inside the back door from the garden. The utility room houses the Bosch washing machine, tumble dryer & central heating boiler. There is also another cupboard with washday & cleaning equipment. A good assortment of baby & child items are stored in the large understair cupboard.
The back enclosed garden is accessible via the back door of the cottage & has a lawn area, BBQ patio area with rustic dining furniture. The washing line & recycling/storage shed are at top end of the garden out of the way & you can also exit the garden here onto the footpath. The shed also houses the BBQ, Swingball, kids furniture & surf boards & beach windbreak. There is parking for 2 cars on the brick pavia drive at the front of the cottage which has open grassy areas each side of it. This is the area you will see first on arrival.

Leave ReviewFamily Friendly!
By J Bridgeman on 14-Apr-2024We stayed for a week with other family members, including children aged 2 and 6. All of us thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cottage catered for everything, and it was very comfortable. Liz was very welcoming and warm, and let the children collect the chickens eggs and they also met the horses. Waking up to see peacocks in the garden was fabulous. Everything was easily accessible, from stunning sandy beaches to farms for days out. Thank you Liz for a fabulous week making memories.
Spacious & well equipped.
By L How on 15-Feb-2025Lovely property, spacious and very well equipped. Great for dogs and not too far to travel to the coast and waterfall area. We had a wonderful holiday and would highly recommend.
Best equipped cottage we've stayed in!
By D Giles on 02-Apr-2024Loved the cottage and had a wonderful two weeks except for the weather. One of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. Would recommend it and would love to go back. Liz was very helpful and very good with our two granddaughters when they wanted to look at the horses and sheep. They loved feeding the chickens and collecting their eggs. Thank you Liz for a wonderful holiday.

The setting is beautiful with a great garden that was well used by us! The owners are lovely-really helpful and welcoming with great recommendations of places to visit and see. Our children loved collecting the eggs and seeing the sheep!
