Neat cottage
By Stella S. on 18-Jun-2025We had a happy time at Buttercup cottage but it was a little small for 3 and then later in the week, 4 adults being more ideally suited to a couple with or without children. Tony was a discreet host and very helpful in letting us stay a couple of hours beyond check out. The cottage was clean and comfortable despite being small but lacked a little in the kitchen in terms of crockery. Pots and pans and cooker were all fine but only two wine glasses! We bought one in a charity shop so there are now 3! The crockery is a bit sparse and mismatched. Bathroom is spacious however with good supply of hot water and efficient towel rail. The roads around the cottage are in a poor state with many potholes but a little further out they are fine if narrow as to be expected in the Devon countryside. Parking is tight. One car is best but two can be squeezed in.Overall - and for the price - the cottage is a happy place to be for a week of reasonable weather and probably ideal for just a couple.
Country hide away
By Ingrid D. on 15-May-2025Very happy with our stay at Buttercup Cottage. Amenities were all well appointed, we needed to replace the kettle which was no problem and had a replacement within an hour. The loveliest spot to enjoy the countryside thank you.
Heaven in Devon
By Greg H on 11-Dec-2024Buttercup cottage is an exceptional venue. We stayed for a month and did not wish to leave. Our stay was over the November / December period when there was snow on the ground and the wood burner made the whole accommodation feel warm and welcoming. Will definitely return in the summer if the cottage is available. Tony was a brilliant host, pure magic.
