We previously stayed at this property and wanted to return to the area and didn’t even contemplate staying elsewhere. The house is spacious, very well equipped and in a lovely rural location but only a short drive from attractions. There is a wonderful pool and the house easily sleeps 8 people, although there were only 2 of us. We will be sure to return to the property if we go back to this area

Chene Bois – fantastic base for a terrific holiday We spent a wonderful week at Chene Bois with our two granddaughters and our daughter, we all agreed it provided everything we could need; location, swimming pool, comfort in air conditioned bedrooms and all necessary household amenities to cater for eating, drinking and leisure. The gite is spacious and comfortable, with all bed linen and towels provided, in the kitchen the fridge and freezer were more than adequate for storing our food and the cooking equipment was ample for our needs. As we were staying during a very hot spell the air conditioning in the bedrooms was very welcome enabling us all to sleep in comfort. There were plenty of games and puzzles available if we wanted them as well as a host of dvds, but frankly we spent most of our time up at the pool which was lovely for cooling off on some really hot days! The location of the gite is quiet and private but within very easy reach of all the magnificent tourist attractions the Dordogne has to offer and we spent some lovely days by the river visiting Sarlat, Beynac, Castelnaud, Domme and the gardens of Marqueyssac. There are plenty of other things to do like canoeing, cycling and ‘parcs en arbre’ but we only had a week! Overall we would certainly book again and would recommend Chene Bois to anyone who wants to visit the Dordogne region and have a lovely holiday! David & Cathy White – date of stay 9th-16th July 2022
This year we returned to Chene Bois for the fourth time, it was our first trip abroad since the Covid outbreak and we wanted to visit somewhere familiar that we knew wouldn’t disappoint. Chene Bois is located in a stunning, secluded setting, it’s comfortable, well appointed and has a great pool. There are many places to visit within easy reach and lovely restaurants nearby. We highly recommend Chene Bois and very much look forward to returning again soon.
