Overview
Description
This barn conversion retains all the charm of the original building with oak beams and stone walls . Open living space downstairs is accessed from the courtyard and includes a kitchen, dining and living room with a wood burning stove. There is a downstairs toilet and bathroom with double bedroom opposite. Upstairs there is a mezzanine over the living space with twin beds.La Vigne benefits from a private garden space with dining terrace and built-in barbecue.
La Vigne sits within the courtyard of an old Périgord style farm now called Au Coin Des Arbres. We are located in the hamlet of Ballande 500m along a no-through road with very little passing traffic. A network of footpaths and tracks pass directly by Au Coin Des Arbres and the village and chateau of Biron is a 30 minute walk through the woods.
Au Coin Des Arbres has a large outdoor pool (13mx7m) with sunbathing terrace, a large field with games including volleyball, badminton and disc-golf. We are surrounded by nature with plenty of opportunity to watch wildlife.
Three other rental gites are available at Au Coin Des Arbres and can be found on Simply Owners or directly on our own website.
Your hosts, Nick and Rachel, are English speaking and live on site so we are available to assist with sightseeing recommendations and to help with making reservations..
LA VIGNE INCLUDES:
New kitchen (2025) with gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, choice of coffee-pod or filter machine
Lounge with wood-burning stove and dining (indoor and out) for four

So peaceful and relaxing
By Richard Wood on 26-Apr-2024Tony & Lisa are wonderful hosts, the gite complex is so peaceful & beautiful. The gite was so clean & well equipped. The bed was very comfortable. The local medieval villages are amazing. Tony & Lisa are on hand if you need them but not intrusive if you value your privacy on holiday. We will definitely return. Thank you.
Peaceful and comfortable
By Samantha Hall on 17-Jul-2024We have been going to France for twenty years and pretty much given up on finding interesting footpaths to explore. We just stuck to cycling as we often ended up walking on roads. Going to stay with Lisa and Tony helped us to discover the walking routes we had missed for so long. As soon as we said that we loved walking Tony produced several maps of the local area, along with a number of books of suggested walks. The ones that we did were all on small footpaths or forest tracks, such a difference from our past experience. Along with these books Tony and Lisa gave us instructions for walking to Biron, to visit its beautiful castle, just 30 minutes' away. The wonderful thing about Au Coin Des Arbres is that is very much is in the corner of the trees. It is surrounded by hilly woodland interspersed with gorgeous Perigord villages, bastide towns and ruined castles. And the amazing thing is that it's not crowded, which is what we loved about the area. Being able to discover this glorious region of France without being swamped by other tourists was just delightful. At the end of a day's hiking we were able to cool off in the gorgeous infinity pool, which was spotlessly clean and then have dinner and relax on the terrace of our well-equipped gite listening to the birds. A bonus for us was the company of Baxter, Lisa and Tony's Labrador, who often came to say hello. If you enjoy walking through the French countryside, visiting undiscovered villages and returning to a peaceful and comfortable gite of an evening, then Au Coin Des Arbres is definitely the place to visit.
Such a great location
By Joel Hallam on 26-Sep-2024We had a great holiday here, such a great location and Tony and Lisa are amazing hosts. Tony’s top tips gave us some great days out and otherwise it was lovely to spend time at the gites and by the pool, even in September!
