Nestling in gently rolling hills you can recharge your batteries walking or cycling around the country lanes. Or perhaps a round of golf or canoeing along the gentle river Dronne might be more to your taste. Or, maybe you just want to relax beside the pool!
This beautiful country-house is located on the Charente/Dordogne border, just a few minutes’ drive away from Aubeterre-sur-Dronne (listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France). The house is easily accessible by road. BA, Ryanair and Easyjet. Between them give you the choice of flights to Bordeaux, Bergerac, Limoges or Poitiers from various parts of the UK.
The villa has all modern amenities (including internet access and WiFi) and can accommodate up to ten people.
Description.
Our spacious country-house is about 150 years old, but the interior was completely refurbished in 2014. It was redecorated in a modern style with luxurious furniture, fixtures and fittings. The restyling was inspired and led by the Dutch designer, Joris van Grinsven (www. Seigneursdeclerand. com). Joris has restyled many historic French houses and hotels and given them a new future whilst at the same time, respecting the historic elements in the original buildings.
The garden around the house and pool is laid to lawn, but includes lavender beds and some fine majestic trees offering lovely, aromatic shade. The three rooms on the south-facing rear of the house open onto the wide, very pleasant terrace. With its large family-sized table and parasols. What better way can there be to unwind and enjoy the local produce?
In the sunniest part of the two-acre garden we have built a new 12mx6m swimming-pool surrounded by a deck to soak up the southern sun. The pool is safely fenced.
There are shops for your everyday necessities in Aubeterre (3km), and St. Severin (5 km). Your nearest large supermarkets (Intermarché and Lidl, Leclerc) are in Chalais (10km) and Riberac (14km). The larger towns of Riberac, Angoulême and Périgueux are within 30 minutes to one hour’s drive.
You will find the 9-hole golf-course at Longeveau just 5 minutes away, with 18-hole courses in Angoulême and Périgueux. There are many nice and safe roads to walk or cycle along. The river Dronne is well-known for its canoeing and you can hire canoes of all types in Aubeterre.
Our villa has 5 spacious bedrooms and large comfortable beds (10 sleeps).
The kitchen has all features you might need. We have 4 toilets and 3 bathrooms. There is plenty of space around the house or the private swimming-pool the to play and relax.
Prices are all-inclusive: no extra costs for cleaning, taxes, use of water and electricity. Also the use of (hotel quality) bed- bath- and kitchenlinen is included, as well as the use of pooltowels.! Only in low season extra costs for energy could be calculated.
You can recharge your electrical car with our private recharging station (€0,40/kWh).
You only bring yourself and family and friends!!

Vanaf het moment dat je aankomt, voel je de rust, ruimte en verfijnde charme van het Franse platteland. De villa ademt stijl en comfort: smaakvol ingericht, met oog voor detail en voorzien van alles wat je nodig hebt voor een zorgeloos verblijf. De tuin is een oase van groen (heerlijk om in te spelen voor de kids) met uitzicht op glooiende heuvels, en het zwembad nodigt uit tot eindeloze ontspanning. Wij waren te gast met twee gezinnen en zes kinderen — een waar feest! Er was ruimte voor iedereen om te genieten: samen aan lange tafels eten, spelen in de tuin en ontspannen aan het zwembad. De gastvrijheid is ongeëvenaard — warm, attent en oprecht. Elke dag voelde als een feest van goed eten, gezelligheid en pure ontspanning. Villa De Bannink biedt precies wat de uitdrukking belooft: leven als een god in Frankrijk. Een absolute aanrader voor wie het echte Franse leven wil proeven in alle luxe en rust.
Perfect multi generational family holiday house
By FB on 06-Sep-2025A beautiful property in a lovely setting. It felt like home and met all our needs. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped. The lounge is large, comfortable and accommodated everyone. We made endless use of the outside dining and bbq. The pool is fantastic and large enough for everyone to enjoy.

On a eu du soleil, alors on a passé des heures dans la grande piscine et à profiter de tout ce qu’il y a dans et autour de la maison. Le jardin et la nature sont magnifiques à l’automne 🍂 On a adoré, et on reviendra avec grand plaisir ! À très vite ! Pomme 🌞

Delightful house, stunning location.

The weather was not quite what we had expected but this did not matter as the house is set up so well you can cope just as easily with rain as sunshine. On the hot sunny days the pool is just perfect. A selection of chairs loungers and umbrellas will suit all requirements. The house itself is flooded with light, there is a feeling of a traditional manor but with modern elements to provide a comfortable stay. Extremely well equipped, easy to keep tidy, the house keeper is charming and so helpful with suggestions of places to try. Really pleased to have found here. We hope to be back next year. Thank you all.
Wonderful house and pool
By AK on 03-Aug-2025We stayed for three weeks and it was wonderful. The pool is fantastic and the grounds are lovely. The house is spacious, comfortable, and well equipped. Both Manno the owner and Estelle the property manager are very responsive in case of any queries.

Our eldest son and his family were in the attic and the children settled beautifully every evening after their bath. The location of the Villa is spectacular and the grounds are so beautiful. We would definitely recommend this property!
