Leave ReviewGreat relaxing place
By Ashley on 25-Jul-2025We were a family of 4 and had a great time here. The house is very cosy and has a homely feel. Loved sitting out on the patio with a coffee in the morning sun watching deer run across the meadow. Loads of things to do in 15-20 min drive from the house. The pool is a great feature and quite rare as we didn’t find many others near by with one. It’s also a good size and deep. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to my friends!

Wonderful views in peaceful location
By Hillary de Coverly on 04-Jul-2025Pretty, rustic cottage in rural setting with lovely views but still only 10 minute drive to nearest boulangerie in St Cyprien. The boulangerie in the local village, Meyrals, has closed but a new one is opening in May 2026. Very useful bar and restaurant in the village which is 4 minutes drive away. Lovely pool. Tile covered terrace is a real bonus as provides welcome shade all day. Even if the weather is showery means you can still be outside. Really enjoyed the Marche Gourmand evenings in St Cyprien - such a lovely feature of the Dordogne. And terrific market every week. Les Eyzies also a lovely village with lots of restaurants and a museum. We had a wonderful three weeks and all the family enjoyed it. Charlotte was great at communicating and sorted out any minor queries we had.

A relaxing break in a rural setting
By Helen Archer on 06-Jun-2025This was a return visit to L’Emerillon and as expected, it did not disappoint. We spent a thoroughly enjoyable week with the cottage providing us with everything that we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The location is perfect for accessing walking and cycling trails as well as for visiting the many local attractions. The weather was lovely and sunny and we were very grateful for having the pool to cool off in. The terrace is a great place to spend time looking out across the meadow with its wildlife or listening to the birds. So glad to have reacquainted ourselves with L’Emerillon and it’s peaceful location.

Why we return each year
By Shaun McCarthy on 27-Jun-2025After three hugely enjoyable stays here over the last three summers, we thought we ought to be adventurous and try another gite somewhere in the Dordogne. We travel a lot and returning to the same place seemed a little ‘safe’, no matter how much we have enjoyed all our stays. And we looked, very hard for somewhere new - but nowhere we saw offered the same combination of superb location, complete privacy but proximity to many sights to and restaurants, value for money and a wonderful heated pool as L’ Emerillon. So we have just returned from our fourth visit. There was a heatwave so the pool was wonderful, as were the options of enjoying dining outside on covered or open terraces. Unfortunately I have to do some work online while away, and the wifi is pretty good for such a remote spot. We are so fond of this remarkable cottage in the woods.

Meyrals Gite
By June LLOYD-ADAMS on 07-Jun-2024A spacious, well equipped gite situated in a beautiful part of the Dordogne. This is a three bedroom property with 2 bathrooms, dish washer, washing machine, plenty of all the equipment you would need for a comfortable stay. The swimming pool is heated and well looked after. The best recommendation is the fabulous outlook from the rear veranda. Even sighting deer at sundown.
A beautiful house in the countryside
By Shaun McCarthy on 08-Sep-2023This is our second stay in this lovely house, set deep in beautiful French countryside and feeling totally private and secluded, yet within easy drive of many sights along the Dordogne, and of local markets and restaurants, etc. This time we came later in the year (early September, so still very hot), which made the large heated pool even more of a delight to swim in at night with just the underwater lights on and the rest of the surrounding valley in darkness. The bellowing and clashing horns of rutting stags in the woods was a regular evening feature. We came with two friends who had heard us talking rather a lot about how lovely the house are its surroundings are, and they were not disappointed. We certainly hope to return again next year: the house provides everything you need for a classic French rural gite holiday.
