Overview
Description
This Exmoor Cottage is a traditional farm workers country cottage on the Western edge of the Exmoor National Park with outstanding countryside all around. The changeover day is FRIDAY. We have aimed to make the cottage extremely reasonable value for the country loving holiday maker. It is serviceable clean and well equipped. It is not luxuriously furnished but rather practical and ideal for families and activity holidays such as, walkers, cyclists, surfers and those loving the outdoors or a quiet retreat (and off peak there is a discount for only two people).Being surrounded by a large garden with extensive lawns to the rear and a pretty enclosed area at the front, there is no need to go anywhere else. But there are so many attractions in every direction. Many visitors have returned over and over again because of its superb position, traditional charm, large and attractive gardens, and the many outstanding attractions and eating places all around. The porch/conservatory provides an ideal setting to enjoy the front garden and nature in any weather. The wood-burner fire completes the cozy atmosphere.

By Chris Moore on 20-Sep-2025Dear Hazel, Thank you for a lovely, relaxing week. We found the cottage very clean, comfortable cosy & well equipped. You looked after us so well, which was much appreciated. We are looking forward to visiting you again. Many thanks Mo & Chris Moore
A great place to stay to get away from the busy modern life.
By Marjorie on 16-May-2025Our stay in Park Cottage was very peaceful, tranquil and private. Situated in a rural/isolated tucked away position it is surrounded by tall trees, shrubs and greenery with acres of neighbouring farmland and countryside. It is a large property therefore we were very spoilt with regard to space (just 2 of us) but is perfect for families with children as the back garden is enormous. Kept in an old style interior with comfortable beds it has the biggest bathroom we have ever seen. The outdoor utility room with toilet is very handy and reminded us of our own childhood homes. Recommend sitting in the front porch in the evenings to see the beautiful sunsets. A car is needed with plenty of places to visit either in the park or on the outskirts. All in all very good value for money.
cosy, comfortable and homely
By Ursula C on 14-Aug-2022Hi Mary I just wanted to say what a lovely holiday we had at Park Cottage. We were delighted by the cottage and the peace and quiet of the location. It is so refreshing to find holiday accommodation that is cosy, comfortable and homely. We spent lots of time playing badminton in the garden with the children and enjoying the outdoor space. It was a true tonic!
The ideal place to stay and explore North Devon
By Rob Clarke on 17-Oct-2021Rob, Philippa & Mya October 8th - 15th October 2021 For us Park Cottage was the ideal place to spend a week exploring the North Devon coast and Exmoor. We loved its location, so peaceful and private, with a large rear garden for Mya to enjoy. It was perfect. Its retro charm made us feel immediately at home. The cottage was warm, clean and tidy and had everything we could possibly need for our holiday. We give it 5 stars.
